Given these facts, why wouldn't the Senate adopt the amendment to ban ALL gang members from getting legal?
ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) conducted a threat assessment survey of all field offices:
"The results of the assessment showed that most major metropolitan areas were experiencing a surge in gang activity. Additionally, the survey showed that membership of these violent transnational gangs was comprised largely of foreign-born nationals."

• Gang members in the United States: 800,000
• State and local police in the United States: 708,000

Sounds pretty compelling to me. How about you?
Answer:
They most definitely should adopt such an amendment.
Ehh? I thought anyone with gang relations would be banned regardless of this law being passed? I've heard the screenings are pretty strict..so yeah I don't they would get through even now.
Yes, BUT...
Here's the problem: Dianne Feinstein LIES continuously. She is a phony commie hypocrite.
She just got caught in some very serious Corruption.
If Feinstein was a Republican, she would now be in prison.
Feinstein is very lucky that Democrat Politicians are Above The Law.
I don't think that the Senate will let facts deter them from passing legislation that will obviously benefit their political agendas - the Democrats want millions of new (hopefully voting) members of the party, and the Republicans want to provide cheap labor (read: don't pay taxes, don't strike, don't require medical coverage, etc.). I don't think they are concerned with our national interests; I think they are more concerned with short-sighted self-interests.
Facts? We don't need no stinkin' facts!
I have an idea: why not enforce the laws that we currently have in place? Or, better yet, adopt the immigration laws of our neighbor to the south...I know that Mexico doesn't tolerate illegal immigration and immediately deports foreign criminals (or, throws them in jail and THEN deports them). Nobody seems to protest their policies.
i don't understand how our govt officials could let this get so out of hand. its crazy how they can sit on the back sides and do nothing. all they are interested in is money.
I think those gang members, Americans or foreigners or illegals should be penalized to the full extent of the law. It's a shame what they've done to society as a whole and especially to the less fortunate in their areas. They are like a virus and we have to get the right antibiotic to take them down and out of operation. Most are murderers and drug dealers and I think the death penalty is too good for them. Maybe a public execution to deter recruits in the future. How did our law enforcement agencies let them take hold? And the people they terrorize, it's ridiculous.
sounds reasonable to me, banning gang members.
Watching the senate negotiate the immigration compromise has made my head spin, what with the constant politicking, both left and right. But I guess that's all part and parcel of the DEMOCRACY we are all so proud of as Americans...
They want to see the break down of America. Why else would they even have this ridiculous bill? Weaken the people then take full control and do what you want.
