No I don't support it. We have nothing to gain by it a a lot to loose. America can stand all by it's self with out Canada or Mexico. Mexico can't support it's self and will only drain others in it's support.

The problem with amnesty is that it is too broad a term. It should be apparent to anyone that the present immigration situation is asinine; there is no way that the migras are going to be able to find and deport twelve million people. And, of course, it would devastate the economy if they did. Any realistic addressing of the matter must make some provision for legalizing those people; it is appropriate that this provision should be costlier and more difficult than for people who came through the gate instead of over the fence. The bill that is now stalled in the Senate tried to address these issues; it was not perfect, but it would be better than the mess we have now. In the meantime, a billion dollars worth of lettuce in Yuma County, Arizona, is at risk of rotting because pickers cannot be found. Does that make sense?
As for a North American Union, it isn't on the table, and I would not see much point in it if it were.
A NAU would not happen.

I do support "amnesty" in the sense that they should work to earn their legalization, and the NAU is a myth propogated by conservative fear-spreaders like you.

Anyway I am voting for Obama. Aside from agreeing wholeheartedly with his policies, I think it's time this country has a minority president, but that is certainly not the main reason why I support him.

No to Amnesty and absolutely not to the NAU. I don't know who I will vote for but not a Muslim reared person, not Hillary and McCain is a gas bag. I think the choices are slim to none at this point. I probably wouldn't reveal my voting choice even if I'd made one. I think it's awful that our laws and way of life is being compromised but I'm not sure what to do about it other than to call and write letters, etc. I feel as if the working man has been sold down the proverbial river. I hope we don't lose our middle class but it's heading that way. So many people have lost manufacturing jobs and homes, it's really scarey. Maybe there will be a better candidate yet, I'll keep watching. I don't think the American people will go softly into that good night, we have too much to lose.

No, I don't support "amnesty". I REALLY don't support the NAU! What that will amount to is to reduce Canada, the US, and Mexico to the most impoverished common denominator of all 3, reducing the first two countries to third world status in no time.
It appears to me like whoever's behind this wants a hoard of cheap workers, to create goods and services.
How many people think this NAFTA "superhighway" thing is to help bring in cheap goods from China through Mexican ports, and how many people think it is to ship US and no doubt Canadian wealth to other countries? We're already getting plenty of dollar store and Wal*mart junk. It could be used to ship US and Canadian oil (there are HUGE amounts of shale oil to be developed, and it's starting to be cost effective) to China and to other countries which hold the monumental US debt?
Heck, it could be used to ship in armies of "peacekeeping forces" to keep down any who object to the rape of our continent.
The US was a great idea. Unfortunately, no democracy lasts much over 200 years.

Illegal immigration is a matter of national security. We neither have the way or means to round everybody up. To the extent that our border can be penetrated by anyone means it can be penetrated by the enemy. We must strengthen the border first. But we have a million illegals in this country not paying taxes and using our programs. They can even draw SSI. even though they have never paid a dime to the system. A one time amnesty would create a national register so people who want to work in our country would have to pay taxes. Any one not registering should be considered an enemy of the state. Any one who hires an illegal should e charged as an accessory to the crime of conspiring to compromise our borders in a time of war. I believe that carries the death penalty.
me, now i'm all about tradition. to give in to somthing and ruin the tradtiotion that out founding fathers fought for in the revolutionary war would be disrespectful to them. it would also disrespect those who fought to free texas from mexico. we are THE united states of america. WE were rightfully born here and our parents were too or they may have properly immigrated here too. some may whine about it taking too long to properly and legally imigrated but too bad its hte law and we here in the usa traditionally try to follow the law. whats next will i steal from a company that i may work for someday because i didnt want to wait to work my way up to a well paying position. as far as i'm concerned, if you want to live in an american home, work on american soil, be subject to the rights that an american is entitled, (and this goes for everyone not just illegal mexicans) you need to pay your taxes, have a job, and stop sucking madicare and welfare programs dry. we shouldnt join with anybody because the rest of the world wants us to we should if the americans vote on it and want to (ex. alaska and hawaii).
