US citizen weds Indian citizen, how to immigrate?

Hi guyz, my gf is an American citizen of US origin and I am an Indian. We met over yahoo chat room and we feel in love. We have met twice and now after knowing each other for almost 7 years, I wanna get married to her and go to US. Do we get married the Hindu way or the Christian way? Which one is better? Do I need to put a notice in the court before 1 month to get this marriage registered? Are there any special laws applicable? Would it benefit me in getting US visas if I registered our marriage at the US consulate? Let me know guyz. She is visiting India just for 10 days.

Answer:
In either the US or India, you can marry in any way that is recognized as legitimate in the country where you do it. You do not need to "register" your marriage at the US consulate.

In order to immigrate to the US, she must petition for you after you marry; or she can petition for you as a fiance before you marry.
