Do you think Mexico is laughing at the US considering the hypocrisy?
Stiff laws you ask?
1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections and all government business will be conducted in our language.
2. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote, no matter how long they are here.
3. Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.
4. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers -- no welfare, no food stamps, no health care, nor any other government assistance programs.
5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
6. If foreigners do come and want to buy land, that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are not allowed to own waterfront property. That property is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
7. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his
Answer:
And you should see the way Mexico enforces their southern border. It's brutal.
Hellyeah they are
you also forgot they have their army on their southern border keeping people out
you better believe it.
Laughing all the way to the bank
The hypocrisy abounds.
You might add "Export our criminals to our northern penal colony." Your list sounds like a good addition to the current legislation pending in Congress. Maybe you could get Ted Kennedy to add the whole list as an amendment.
What hypocrisy? Are millions of people trying to get into Mexico? I think not. Their laws do not effect nearly the number of people that ours do. I don't understand how the word hypocrisy fits in here.
Instead of concentrating on Mexico, why not point out the great things about the US?
We're probably afforded more individual freedoms than any country on the planet.
Anyone who wants to come to the US can become successful, thus "The American Dream".
People have access to basic health care as a human right.
We're allowed to protest, have demonstrations, political organizations, and criticize the President if we so choose.
I assume you live in the US, so why this interest in what happens in Mexico?
There are plenty of countries that don't treat people fairly, but here in the US, more times than not people are. Another reason it's such a fantastic country.
You don't actually believe this spam do you? Or are you just helping to spread the lies?
OF COURSE FOREIGNERS CAN'T VOTE. It's like that in every country. They CAN vote once they become CITIZENS of Mexico. FOREIGNERS don't have most of those rights in any country.
Notice how that propaganda hopes you assume foreingers means foreign-born-citizens.
You guys are taking this out of context...this is definately not the policy for unnatural citizens of Mexico. I think this thread proves that the majority of people aren't willing to consider what they hear or read, and just assume it to be fact.
This is why you should always question what you hear, whether you want to believe it or not.
It is hypocritical of supporters of illegal aliens to say the USA should allow criminals to stay when laws like this are enforced in other nations.
The world would really be up in arms(even though they bash us) if we adopted any of these laws. USA aid is always needed, asked for then bashed by the very nations we help.
Wonders never cease to amaze me.
Morals and ethics are not wrong. Laws are for a purpose.
I think its because they were under a political system that had the same ruling party for over 70 years.
Who knows maybe it will change since in 2000 they barely had their first free election??
It is hypocritical if you look at it though.
Gee, that's funny because in Acapulco, half the "beachfront" properties are owned by wealthy Americans..
Sounds like a good start.
