The sick thing is that Americans have looked the other way while we allow in "slave labor" but cry when people come and start lives here.
If these people came in under a guest worker program that required all females to be placed on forced birth control...like the 5 year implant in the arm...and then they have to be replaced every five years, or sent back to their nation of origin, no one would mind too much that these illegal aliens are coming.
But doesn't that sound sick? Doesn't it really put things into perspective that this is exactly what America and her businesses are hungry for?...SLAVE LABOR!
Which is why I am against illegal "immigration."
If we continue to allow it the way it has been happening, we are sinking our future, but if we do it in a way that would not sink us, we are slave owners. I'm not OK with either scenario.
my husbands cousin has his own business, construction. he said he would rather hire illegals then legal and Americans, because he can pay them cheaper wages. that's why they are getting the jobs.

I like to build houses, just not willing to work for next to nothing. I worked on a remodel job recently, I was hired by homeowner and had a stucco crew working there at same time. I could not communicate with anyone on that crew. Am still thinking about calling INS on that employer.

Those in favor of foreign labor are corporations who are addicted to cheap labor. They are the ones who are benefiting. But their benefit comes at the American tax payer's expense when you consider that the American tax payer is virtually subsidizing the labor costs of the greedy corporations by supplying the illegal foreign workers and their families with welfare, free education, free medical, WICs, housing assistance, etc. -- something the corporations won't do.
Americans won't allow themselves to be exploited like illegals do, but they WILL do the work that illegals do for fair compensation and benefits. If Americans did the work that illegals do at higher pay, would that benefit the consumer? You bet it would in the long run. But many Americans who do not care about America's future are consumers who favor the idea of exploiting illegal workers because it keeps commodity and service prices down in the short term.
Illegal aliens = 21st century slave labor.
(Fat cat CEO's and greedy businessmen use these people to work 50 hour work weeks at slave wages, without benefits and any hope of getting ahead in life.)
It's all about cheap labor, not jobs americans won't do. One of the hardest jobs out there is being a miner. Guess how many illegals you have working at the mines? NONE WHY? Because the labour unions protect these miner's wages and make sure that they don't get fired for not reason to be replaced by illegals. So MR BUSH and you best Friends Democrats in Congress, I don't buy your bullshit! If an American can work as a miner, he can work any job. Pay the American decent salary with benefits and he will do the job! $5 an hour, with taxes to pay, mortgage, healthcare bills to pay, doesn't cut it. Sure if the american got wellfare, didn't pay taxes and got helthcare for free than $5 an hour is more than satisfactory!
It's not about the work. It is all about paying lower wages and income tax evasion by the employers.

They are jobs Americans have always done and they aren't doing these jobs for mere peanuts either. They hire them to avoid other costs and to be able to pay a little less. Others like yard work or repair they can get a good price for and just not pay taxes on since lawn mowing and minor repairs are not tax deductable items for a regular person when you just hire an individual. So many of these illegals are basicly running a business doing these odd jobs and not following the law and not paying taxes on their earnings. We always have them comming around offering to grind a stump for 25 bucks or trim your bushes for such an amount. Most people don't ask for verification and are just glad it's 1 less thing to have to take care of. But that's how they are running legit people out of business. The flip side is when they ruin something.....you have no legal recourse. There's a guy here that advertises to call him to fix right what illegals messed up.
They may be building things but I can guarentee the cheap quality of work won't have it standing 20 years from now. Americans took pride in their work. Cheap...cheap....cheap is going to bite everyone in the butt in the long run.

Construction outfits would not hire cheap labor if the lowest bidder didn't get the job. "You get what you pay for" seems to be a forgotten thing as everyone comes up with get-rich-quick ideas at the middle classes expense. Come to think of it, even the middle class would pay $70 for a pair of shoes made with child labor instead of $100 for union made. We have effectively screwed ourselves.
They are jobs that Americans want! It's the crappy employers that hire the ILLEGAL alien criminals that are breaking the law, along with the ILLEGAL alien criminals (criminals because they are breaking the law.)
The statement jobs Americans won't do is overused. Americans will still do those jobs, but the majority of construction companies that use illegal immigrant labor are under-bidding companies who do not use illegal immigration, and as such those legit places are hurting and losing work.
Cheap wages... and they dont complain about it like Americans do..they get the work done.. will work long hours and bad weather.... and never say anything bad about it...

I think the myth is related to employers who want to bring in Third-World employment practices, such as:
1. Subminimum Wages
2. 18th Century Working Conditions
3. Arbitrary, Horrible Treatment of Employees
All these employers should be JAILED, yesterday!
How do you know if the workers are illegal, did you go up and ask them or the employer? Back up your claim then I might believe you.
Why do you assume they are illegal? There is a visa available for immigrants to come and do seasonal work - like construction and landscaping. The employer has to post the job with the state Department of Labor and also in the local newspaper. If Americans don't apply then he can apply for visas for them to come to the US for 9 months and work.
Interesting how the main theme is how do you know, in retrospect how do they not know. Jobs Americans want do this is based on whom corporate America. Who is interested in cheap labor corporate America.
