How glad are you that the proposed immigration bill died a painful death?

Answer:
It HASN'T died. It's still open for debate and it's not too late to make your voice heard!
It's a great day for America! Americans won and we helped!
Ecstatic
Doesn't change anything.
They are still coming across the imaginary line.
Frankly I am not celebrating..You and your ilk have completely missed the point of why we have this illegal problem in our country. You choose to blame the illegal, when in fact, this govt and its oppressive foreign policies has only served to destabilize all of Latin America, keeping these people and their govts in perpetual poverty. You can't just blame these people, our govt is largely responsible, but I don't expect someone like you to ever understand poverty...

Dar-
Americans and Europeans often blame competition from low-wage Third World countries, or the influx of immigrants from those countries. In fact it is more directly the new round of economic COLONALISM that is the culprit, as it sets into motion the kinds of changes that cause the immigration and ... have dire effects on the poorest countries themselves - countries whose economics have fallen under the control of foreign corporations and whose resources are RAIDED and shipped north to the wealthiest industrial nations. The new trade rules leave Third World countries with little ability to resist or protect themselves, or seek alternative economic strategies. I am not blaming the people, but I am blaming this govt, it instituted NAFTA and it only helped the very rich in all these countries, while it destroyed the poor and middle classes.
It isn't dead yet. It is lurking in the white house waiting to come to a Republican Senatorial lunch with the president next week. Rotting, and zombie-like, it is attempting to garner support sufficient to ram itself through before more can discern its character.

When it is dead, I'll be glad, but now I'm poised for the next round.

Midcentury- I'd be thrilled to repeal NAFTA but why is that more our fault than their fault? You are holding all of us who lose by NAFTA responsible for what our government did without political mandate. Why doesn't the same apply to them and their government?
I've more important things to worry about.A bunch of nonsense all this anti immigration bill stuff.America was founded on immigration.
It didn't die at all. It will amended and brought for vote again. The media has been irresponsible.
I'm only one out of 86% of the American people that are glad to see this bill die . We don't need another bill , just enforcr the one we have on the books !!!
You are right it didn't die and Congress will keep bringing it to life again and again , till we all stop fighting it .
Doesn't matter.

You whites can make any laws. For us, they are toilet paper.

The only thing that matters is who has the spine to do what is needed for their race.

We do. You don't. And that's it.
What was painfull was seeing congress bow down to the illegal invaders for their own gain. Its death wasn't painfull at all.
It is a step in the right direction. Now let's start up the mine fields and razor wire fence plan!
