I want to move to Florida!?
Answer:
Things to consider before moving to Florida.
High crime in the larger cities like Miami, Jacksonville and Tampa.
Poor record K-12 education when compared to other states.
Huge insect population.
High property taxes and completely ridiculous property insurance rates. (If you can even get insured).
I've lived in Florida for 27 years, but looking to move out.
Sky high automobile rates.
Huge influx of illegal aliens
English a second language in Miami.
Fall in love with an american and get married lol, Sorry, bad joke. I am in love with Florida too and I am trying to figure out how to get there too, and I live one state north and I am still having problems. Good luck and maybe I'll see you at the beach :-)
yea i live in florida its gnarr
u could find that special someone and get married like so many other foreigners do.
Florida, specifically southern FL, is a very alluring and fun vacation destination... Living here is something entirely different... I moved here just over a year ago and I full-heartedly regret the decision to do so... The cost of living here is ridiculous, auto insurance pricing is absurd, and after the first month of living here the loud mouth obnoxious "New Yorker Type" tourist using Miami as their playground will grow to be to much to stand... I would suggest finding another place in the U.S. to fall in love with and vacationing in Florida, because that's what it essentially is... A FANTASTIC vacation destination... I would suggest Denver, CO... I have lived all across the U.S. and Denver is without question the best blend of comfortable living and entertainment... The proximity to the ski resorts means there is always something fun to do, but the cost of living is reasonable, and the climate is perfect... Not to mention they just legalized Marijuana last year... ;-) haha...
~Cheers
Florida is a fantastic place to vacation but living there is totally different. I moved there. Central Florida..I thought I'd never get out. Took me 18 years to finally get out of there. I survived literally day to day. HA.Places I worked wouldn't give you your vacation pay till AFTER your vacation time because too many never came back. I chalk that move as the worst mistake of my life.
Totally changed the course of my life. The only good part was my 2 kids.
I literally stopped the car and kissed Georgia ground when I finally drove over that state line. I spent everything I had to get there and ended up totally broke when I left. You couldn't pay me enough to go back. But to each their own I guess. Just don't think living there is like your vacation. It's a "right to work" state so the wages aren't all that great unless you move there with a company. It is expensive to live there.
Another thing is it is difficult to get to know people there. I've lived in alot of places and never had a problem feeling like it was home or making really great friends. I was there for 18 years and there wasn't 1 day where it ever felt like home.there wasn't a person after all that time in which I would consider a friend. The living motto I learned there was..it's not a matter whether or not you get screwed over.just when. First question anyone asks.show me the money.
I live near Tampa Florida. Take some advice, move anywhere else. America is beyond big with many nice places to live. I was born and raised here and leaving the first chance I get. I have a decent job but cant afford a house in my home town because real estate prices have been goin through the roof along with property taxes and house insurance thats as bad as a mortage. Add to that Hurricanes that can destroy everything you've worked your life for and insurance not paying out. Then theres the yearly invasion of retirees or snow birds as they're commonly known around here... grrrrr... check out Virginia
