Who do you think gets higher credit for genetic engeneering, US,German or Russian scientists?
Answer:
Bluntly, I don't like the concept of genetic engineering at all because messing with natural biology has already resulted in catastrophic results without our even trying. Case in point: Over use of anti-biotics has caused genetic mutations in some bacteria (Staph & Strep & TB) that makes them immune to common cures. Hospitals have become breeding grounds for antibiotic resistant forms. You even see it in ads on TV: Lysol will kill 99% of the germs! Hey, that 1% not killed may already be resistant to Lysol! You get the picture.
Certainly isn't the USA...I think it is actually, Italy or England that is.
As of the three probably Russian scientists.
Russia, falls behind in biological scientist. Unlike other areas of science, they made a big mistake and nvere recovered. I would say the US of the three. THe thing is that the Germans own some of the companies in the US involved in genetic engineering. Bayer owns the rights to genetically engineered rice and some germans own soem companies who genetically engineer microbes for pharmaceutical. Unrelated, Roche owns the second largest company involve with genetics and pharmaceuticals in the US.
