I cannot answer your question directly. Which is the good side and which is the bad side?
I am "pro" legal immigration, "anti" illigal immigration, I believe that there should be put in place some method to assist illegals currently residing in the US with becoming legal and, if they do not wish to participate, deport them. I do not believe illegals should be denied basic health care, I do believe illegals should not be allowed medicare, welfare, or a driver's license.
I think the process for naturalization should be sped up because it is ridiculous.
There are things that all immigrants need to know to live in this country.
I am very pro-legal immigration, and very much fed up with illegal immigration and their American supporters.
EDIT: Apparently there are lots of people that support ILLEGAL immigration here judging from the thumbs down.
Those people should be deported as well, for condoning such law breaking.
EDIT again: Why do so many responders fail to distinguish between illegal and legal when they answer. They only say "immigrant". These people IMO are the very ones that completely support ILLEGAL immigration.

I am on the side that best solves the problem.
The good side .. ALL illegals, no matter where they came from, need to be deported and enter our country the way real IMMIGRANTS do.. I don't confuse the words "illegal aliens" with "immigrants" because they are two very different things. An "immigrant" goes through the process of entering our country legally and wants to become an American citizen and assimilate themselves into American society. An "illegal alien" jumps our borders illegally and DEMANDS rights from the citizens and our government that they do not have, all the while waving a FOREIGN flag. If it's so great in your country of origin, go home now, but don't even THINK real American citizens (be they born here or "immigrated" here) will give you the right to piss all over us - it just AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!
The citizen's and country's side. We have always welcomed legal immigrants. Illegals are another matter. In times past they were shot with no trials. This wasn't right , however giving them a pass isn't either. I have heard it said " they just want a better life" and "they aren't breaking any laws they are just trying to better themselves" but this is not true. They broke the law by being here. The answer isn't to let it slide , nor is it to give them legal status. They must be sent back to their countries of origin. Further the citizenship laws need to be changed so that to be born here isn't enough to be a citizen. We need a requirement calling for at least one parent of the child in question to be a legal citizen and it must be able to be proven. Will this solve everything ...no, but it will put a big dent in the problem.
Which ever is the Godly or Christian side, that is the side I am on.

With out boarder patrol turning a blind eye on border crossings we would not have our mini malls, fruits, veggies nor Starbucks. But now we having to deal with the mess we created. Lets not worry to much on sides or right and wrong, but on solutions that would work. Three steps from here.
1) Close down the border.
2) Deliver an ultimatum, All illegal immigrants would have 3 or 4 months to register (@ the DMV probably: it should include, Fingerprinting, Number Like SSN#) preferably a proper Drivers License while there are there.
3) New I9 form to deliver to there employer.
All illegal's should be taxed at the 0 or NO exceptions rate, they should not be eligible for tax returns (easy on the IRS)
Children born in the US should receive Dual Citizenship. If parents get deported they go with and have a right to return at legally.
This is the only way we can have our cake and eat it to. Each illegal would now work legally, each employer can now get the laborers needed to build their small business and best of all Taxes, 12,000,000 new taxpayers and with NO Exemptions. And a ballenced budget in no time.

I'm on the side of fairness for everyone , most imigrants do "jobs Americans wont do" . Why don't you stop for a minute and think? If we had no imigrants..... You would have to cook your own food, clean your own house, pick your own vegetables, wash your own cars. Do you think you can do that?
What do you consider '' bad''. People that come here 2 make a better life for their families!! People that come here and do job's that most American's think they are above doing!! I don't consider that being bad. Most people that do not want immigrant's here are the ignorant, racist and heartless jerk's that should be put in a situation where reality hit's them in the face like a ton of brick's and make's them appreciate their freedom. Then maybe they would think twice before judging other's who risk everything for their's.

BTW, I enjoy washing my own car, cleaning my own house, cooking my own meals and working in my own garden. I would not pay someone else slave wages to do those chores for me.
