Comprehensive Immigration Reform talks?

"I am optimistic we can pass a comprehensive immigration bill and get this problem solved for the American people this year," Bush said in his weekly radio address.

Answer:
I don't give a crap want Bush says. He doesn't pass the laws, Congress does.

I doubt that congress as the guts to pass amnesty. Not only are they cowards but they want to keep their jobs (MOST Americans don't want amnesty and many ran on no amnesty/border security). They also hate Bush and will be very glad to do just the opposite from what he wants.

We need current laws enforced. The current laws are just fine. We don't need new laws! NO AMNESTY! JAIL EMPLOYERS! DEPORT AND/OR JAIL ILLEGALS! NO ANCHOR BABIES!
We don't need any new legislation. We need the government, including the President, to quit obfuscating on the issue. The borders should be controlled. All legal immigrants should be properly screened before they are let into the US.
They say are negotiating, (the legislators) but nothing is for certain until it gets signed into law by president Bush. I hear that they are having a hard time working out a compromise that both parties would agree to (both the GOP and Dems, I mean).
Immigration is the only issue that Bush and the Democrat congress see eye to eye on. They'll be granted citizenship, in one form or another. We don't need any new laws, the laws that are already in place need to be enforced.
They can talk reform all they want, but its not wanted, nor needed. We have good immigration laws now, but we lack enforcement. No amnsety, No reform.
sorry to be contradictory here but it is imminent , amnesty is getting one step closer by the minute , and yes it was about time sorry boys and girls.
If you read the articles, you will notice that amnesty is already decided, the only disagreement they have is about the guest worker program.
Most can’t see beyond their noses (see^^^^ above) when it comes to immigration issues. If a bill is passed and signed by Bush it is unlikely that the provisions will ever be enforced. The provisions will be too costly and too cumbersome to deliver. It will be so expensive and difficult to meet the provisions of any amnesty process so far put forward that few will apply. That being said it in no certainty that any bill will get though house. If it doesn’t happen before the summer recess the issue is dead until after the elections next year. The bottom line is our borders will remain pores and unsecured. The tide of illegal immigration will continue and the problems created by it will multiply.
