When you buy a gravesite how long do you have the site for?
Answer:
Until you die, then for eternity.
pretty much forever.
Forever, or until sometime that a government agency would take it.
If you're still alive ...until you sell it. If not ...for eternity.
You buy the land ..... it is yours until somehow, they build a development on top of of it, but it is still yours, so make provisions in your "dying will" that you are not to be resecutated by any means when you wake up, in a poltergeist situation.
Until you die, I would imagine, and then forever once you are buried.
Right up to the time someone with lots of money wants it. Then there is always a way to steal it from you. Don't worry, they will put your bones somewhere nobody wants for a while.
The number one reason I have decided on cremation. There will never be more land than there is right now. Population and businesses grow..no place for dead people. Ashes to ashes....
Look at the deed being given you. However, typically it is forever. It isn't like Hong Kong when you are dug up after 7 years to free the space.
Permanently.
