The U.S. Border Patrol in not part of the Military and they do not need authorization from any branch of the military or DOD. When the BP belonged to the DOJ, the DOJ authorized their uniform. Now they belong to DHS and that agency authorizes and approves their uniform.
There is no equivilance, they are not military,,,,,
