I was born in the USA, immigrated to Canada with my family when I was 10 years old, became a naturalized Canadian citizen when I was 21, married a Canadian man, had two children with him, was divorced when the children were still very young, but have lived all my life since age 10 in Canada, so 41 years. I have duel citizenship and my eldest child also has duel citizenship. I don't regret living in Canada and raising my children here - it is a beautiful country. I also love the USA and feel as patriotic to the USA as any American citizen. I just got my first US passport, but will also soon get my Canadian passport. Most all of the rest of my relatives are in the USA and so I go there regularly for visits. I love both countries but would not want them to ever merge as one country. Both countries are unique and should stay separate. I am proud of my American heritage and that the USA is the superpower of the world. I don't think it will ever come down to having to make a choice, but I really think that if it did, I would return to the USA, but taking my children (now grown) if possible, with me. Ha! I feel that Americans are the proudest and most patriotic people of the world and I am happy to be in with that. No, I would not rather be anywhere else in the world, at this moment, but as I said, if it ever were to come down to it, I would choose the USA.
