I am asking about any experience with those emails which come from England to process their payments. Illegal?
Answer:
It is a scam. Think about it, why would a corp need you to process payments. Thsy do not know you from Jack, you could be a robber or criminal. They did not do any background check on you. They did not even check to see if you were bonded, but they are h\just going to trust you enough to write you a check, sight unseen, deposit it into your checking account, and trust that you will send the money to a third party, minus 5% - 10 % .
For a while, I could not figure what tthe scam was and how they made their money. I googled bank scams and there it was. It goes a little something like this:
1. You get a check into your account, a bogus check.
2. The bank must make the funds available to you within 3-5 business days, even though they never really got the funds from the people that wrote the check to you. The bank thinks the money is juct taking a long while to process, the truth is that the money is not coming.
3. You see the money showing in your account, you think the money is now really in your account.
4. According to the issuer of the check, you keep 10% of the money and then you must forward the rest of the money to XYZ. So you write a check to XYZ.
5. A few weeks may past or even a month, your bank notifies you that the original check that was issued to you never cleared, but becasue you are the responsible party, it is your checking account you are responsible to cover the check to XYZ and any overwithdrawal fees.
You can research it on your own , just google bank scams or bank scams involing the internet.
