I want to become a priest but ii wonder if being clasified as an illegal alien in this country (meaning i dont have a green card) would it stop me from entering the seminary? i really feel the call to priesthood but i dont want to go back to my home country beacuse my parent brought me when i was a kid so i dont really know my home country and plus i would feel more confortable doing the process here and in English.
Answer:
Gods work can be done from anywhere. Why not go back to your country and do it legally, and help your fellow country men. Do you really want to do Gods work while you are a felon?. Breaking laws is a sin, is it not...
The two aren't directly connected.
I suggest going to your parish priest and ask him, maybe in confession since he won't be able to tell the authorities then.
I would think that entering the seminary would go a long way in putting you on the right track to a gren card or citizenship. try this link below. Good luck and God Bless
