How many immigrants do you think she be allowed in the United States yearly?
I am against a cap in principle, but allowing immigration at a level of one percent of our population a year, which would equal three million immigrants a year, sounds reasonable to me.
Answer:
I'm for the cap and I'm for limiting specific groups. Why let all our immigrant numbers be taken up with say only Mexicans, when we have many good quality people from all over the world who will actually bring something to the table. When you add people you need the infrastructure to support them. So caps are a necessity.
10 million
We should have about .1% of the population of each country.
I believe in opening our hearts to people from struggling nations. But we can't let everyone in. Our infrastructure is already crumbling. We need to limit admittance to those with needed skills and/or relatives living here that are citizens.
It would depend on our level of unemployment. If we didn't have illegals in our Country, our unemployment would be
close to zero.
Howeve many are NEEDED.
It's a fact that we need them here, BUT not at the numbers that are currently coming.

i am an illegal myself. but i claim to be not a resident of this country but a resident of the world. i was born on earth with a visa from God and that visa is my soul. so, to all migration officers, border patrols and watch dogs: let pass and let live.
but i agree with 3 millions a year, the US can take that.
Zero for 20 years, then readdress the question.
First, let's reject your assumption. Rather than accepting the illegals that are here, I support NOT granting automatic status to any of them, and increasing the legal immigration percentages. I have no problem with legal immigrants, and I recognize that they are the lifeblood of our economy. But there's something sad and perverse about condoning illegal behavior by granting a blanket amnesty.
Why don't we ONLY give citizenship to those who follow the correct process, and let the ones who are here illegally get back in line and line up behind the people who have legal applications in place. Why should those three million get less consideration than the 12 million who cheated?
800,000 to one million permanent resident immigrants per year.
Student Visas spread equally across the world. Number depending on University capacity. American citizens come first.
