Why does it bother you so much that America is becoming Hispanic?

Because people always have to have someone else to hate and blame all their problems on instead of looking in the mirror. (and they are too damn lazy to educate themselves and realize that humans have been migrating around the world since time began) (oh, and they're also too damn lazy to look up the history of the Southern U.S....).
Anyway, America isn't "becoming Hispanic", it's just that the culture is finally being recognized as another part of this country's history and future and the racistas out there can't handle it.

I welcome diversity, I just don't like when immigrants (hispanics, europeans, asians - whoever) live here for a significant amount of time and don't learn english. I lived in italy for a year and was almost fluent in 5 months, just because I applied myself
I think it is great that the United States is diverse. However, I do not think that I should have to make changes for those that are here ILLEGALLY! If the Hispanics want to come to American great, but do it properly and not by sneaking across the border and then expecting me to pay for their health care, education, job training etc. And this is America, not Mexico. If they want things like it is at home (everyone speaking Spanish) head back to Mexico.
I love the Mexican culture. Y estoy apriendiendo Espanol! But, this is America and every citizen should be able to speak English. That would create a lot less animosity.

And well FFS how would you feel if the shoe was on the other foot. Lets pretend Mexico was the land of milk and honey and a Billion pastey faced white folk moved into your "hood" partied all nite took your job worked for cash under and lived off your tax peso's and your lazy lil neighborhood became area of highest concentrated crime rate.
It doesn't bother me. I think Mexican families are getting a bad rap. I think what most people object to is the money spent on welfare, not on the fact that Mexican people are leaving an oppressed place with no opportunity, because Americans would do the same thing, actually they already did.
I have never felt more welcome than when I visited Mexicans . They are really nice, and caring people.
Even if others can't say it, I will.

So long as they become Americanized it is okay. The problem would be if it went the other way. The Hispanic culture so far has not been very successful economically and that it is why they come here. The last thing that would do anybody any good would be for the USA to become another failed Hispanic society

It doesn't! Because I am Mexican. I was born in America and so were my ancestors. That's right Mexicans hate us for what we have and American's hate us for being Mexican. I am not Latina, I am not a Chicana, I am not HISPANIC I am Mexican.
It doesn't bother me that Mexicans want to come over the border for a better life. What bothers me are the problems they bring with them. You all wanna come over and do better I am all for it! but America already has problems with Child molesters, rapists, alcholoics, Gangs, spousal abuse, homeless. ETC. When I go back and walk down the streets of LA. It breaks my heart to see it looking just like TJ. It's sad is what it is. Isn't that why they choose to leave Mexico in the first place? for a bright future a better environment for your kids? But I can hardly tell the two places apart now.
For the most part Americans don't mind individuals from around the world immigrating to the United States. The problems stems from illegal entry. Undocumented individuals here for the "Mighty Dollar"; rather becoming patriotic and part of the greatest country on earth; or learning English.
Another argument relates huge financial strain economically on the border states. In as much exist special and above treatment not even afforded to citizens born here. In addition; the way the American flag is displayed; when protesting groups gather. Lastly, its the displacement of employment and jobs.

Because their allegiance is to Mexico not America.Mexico is a corrupt third world country who keeps it's citizens impoverished,crime ridden and depraved.Do you want them to bring that here?Because they Love Mexico so much the country that turned it's back on them and is starving them to death,their corrupt justice system,corrupt Government which is run by drug cartels and all the poverty their country has to offer them they will want to change us into the country that they love so much.Almost every,not all but almost every Mexican which I have known that came here from Mexico hates America and discriminated against me for being not only American but for being white as well.Don't get me wrong I have met some who are wonderful people,decent,hardworking and honest people who I felt proud and honored to know.I met a guy a few months ago in a restaurant who told me he came here from Mexico,learned English,got a job as a bus boy along with another job else where and even has his own place and just bought a car.He was so enthusiastic about being here and openly expressed his love for America.He is what we need more of,we need more people who unite with us than divide us and tear us apart.But that is why I'm bothered by America becomming more hispanic because the majority of them are unfortunately not like the bus boy I met in the restaurant.
What is bothering so many people is that our borders and sovereignty are being violated. Breaking into any country is illegal. Most people do not object to legal immigration, but they object to millions of foreign nationals treating our country as if it's their own. It isn't. Would you let someone break into your home? It's the same thing.
Mexican immigration laws are far more harsh, but I don't hear about anyone protesting against them. Care to address that?
My great-grand parents came here legally from Sicily. Most of our ancestors came from somewhere else. It's how we come here that matters.

First off , we cant support it. And we already have a minority group that needs the help that we can offer . So if we accept that we will turn into Hispanic it would be like turning into Mexico. And to be honest Mexico cant support its people . I don't mind seeing the Mexican culture , It adds flavor to our country . I think we should help Mexico become a better country , so that its people don't have to flee from the poverty to another country to try and make a life for there family .

Because majority rules, if the majority is hispanic (Or any other non-white community for that matter), the hispanic community will rule more. Alot of Americans are scared to lose their power, I mean no offense, but that is what Americans are known for. Power/Money-hungry. Sad but true.
And alot of those that say they don't care, they really do. Why do you think there is so much talk about Obama too? Why do you think alot of the questions here are 'Would you rather have a black man (even though I should point out he is half white) or a white woman as president?' Hmm...what is that supposed to mean?? Other communities are rising, and alot of Americans aren't okay with it.

__And to the lady above....Mexico is not a third world country. People sound really ignorant when they say that. Yes, the government is corrupt, but that does not make it a third world country. Also, alot of people bringing up Mexicans and the U.S. turning into Mexico or whatever, I can bet anything that most of the 'illegals' you guys see, are legal, some not even Mexican. Another thing, many illegals (ughh I hate that word, how can people lable a person as illegal...I'm not going to get into that tho) do pay for taxes and get nothing back (because they are illegal by over-staying). They cannot get help from the government, work very hard and yes the U.S. economy does benefit from them and depend on it, and many have children who serve for the U.S. military but nobody ever really hears about that do they?? I say amnesty for all and the reform. This is a country of immigrants, deal with it.
If the U.S. is such a great #1 country (as I'm sure it is) and is known for all this justice and freedom for all and 'give me your poor' and all that other stuff, then it is okay for them to have open arms and help. I'm glad the U.S. government is seeing that, it saddens me to see many Americans with such heartless attitudes.
To the minutemen, those who support them, and all that, they should learn from the people they are trying to stop. They should gain from them and look at how hard they really want to work, instead of being worthless by just standing in the border. Those rallies being done for the amnesty and reform, all those millions of people that are for it. No, not all were immigrants. But look at those that were, specially illegal ones, what did they do right after that day?? They went straight to work. That is all they want. Stop being paranoid, America.

What has people FUMING is the fact that millions of illegals stream over the border with thoughts of reconquesta and making Americans adapt to a group of invaders who want nothing to do with becoming an American.

Because I've been to Mexico and most parts are filthy. I hate to see what is a beautiful country here in America become the city dump. I don't care how poor anyone is, they can go to work and keep things clean. Instead, they lay around over there, making babies they can't support instead of getting off their lazy a%# and cleaning up their surroundings. You can see it happening in southern Calif. where there is a huge amount of Hispanics.
