Um, WHO are the racists in the immigration debate? Granted there are some on both sides, who pushes the policy
Cecelia Munoz, a top Washington advocate for the National Council of La Raza, argued vehemently against opening immigration "to anybody in the world." Experts believe a point system could open new channels to African immigration, which historically has been heavily under-represented in the United States since the end of American slavery. "
What do you think?
What does she mean 'we shouldn't open up the country to anybody in the world', they'd be screened and have education/English/Job points, wouldn't they?
What do you think?

Answer:
I can guarentee you LaRaza would man that border and close it down if suddenly there were a flood of people from other countries comming here. They just want this country for their people. That's why there's no whimper or any information when any other group of people get deported. And there's been alot. They only complain when it's their own. They are the true racists in this whole thing and they MADE it a race issue themselves.

You're absolutely right. We should be receiving people from all over the world.
La Raza is Big Business. They want Mexicans and only Mexicans emmigrating to our country. That's why our Border Patrol 'leader' and other 'leaders' talk about turning back OTMs--their shorthand for 'Other Than Mexicans'. If you say something so many times that it becomes tedious, you develop the abbreviation.
It's all about the deal George Bush made with the then Mexican President Fox. Our business 'leaders' get cheap labor--U.S. citizens pay the benefits (tax dollars). A wealth transfer scam, wiping out our middle class.
Do YOU know what La Raza means? I don't.I speak English and a little French. I don't care to learn Spanish...at all.
Isn't this the United States of America where everyone speaks English?...where immigrants FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD assimilate?

I am not suprised to see that type of statement come from the Latino activists. They want to come here illegally, anchor themselves with a baby or two, suck up the social services without actually paying taxes, and then go to the head of the line when it comes time to actually become a citizen. All the while refusing to assimilate into the culture as citizens. By that, I mean leech off of the free services paid for and provided by the legal citizens of this country while waving the Mexican flag, demanding we speak their language instead of learning ours, and demonstrating for rights that they don't deserve because they are ILLEGAL. Of course anyone with that attitude won't want to have to compete with other immigrants who might want to come here on a legal basis. Of course, La Raza and others want to be able to cement themselves in place as a political force, and you can't do that if you play fair and give everyone a fair shot at living here. They need MEXICANS who will come here and promote their political agenda.
It seems La Raza only wants 'their people' to be coming into the U.S. regardless of legal status. Their racist.
It is very clear that she thinks that Latin Americans should be not only be given preference, but exclusivity to come and pursue the American Dream, to be paid for by the American tax payers, of course
The major reason that everyone hates the amnesty is two reasons:
1. Language barrier between illegals and legal residents.
2. Social programs would be harmed by adding over 12 million people that no doubt will use if not all ready receiving government aid.
The most diverse free country in the world The United Arab Emirates has more people from all over the world building its cities up. There is no cry over this because:
1. They are guest workers that are going back to their host country someday
2. They are allowed to live and do business in certain zones and not all around.
3. They don't have a welfare state that grants benefits to everyone
4. Most foreigners speak English, especially the original Arab Emirate citizens. There are many languages spoken, but English and Arabic are the two primary ones.
If we were to get rid of social handouts and secure the border, then we could allow as many Mexicans, Central Americans, and other nationals in and grant instant citizenship as long as they pass a background check, speak English, and don't get into trouble for 6 months. There would not be too much worry about this issue, if we had a secure border and allowed everyone who meets the criteria. Language is the first barrier. Ever hear of a bunch of Canadians placing the Maple leaf flag at used car dealerships and demanding bilingual French education and other rights? No, then problem solved.
For the race everything, for all others nothing, sums it up well.
Everyone knows that La Raza Unida is a racist organization but somehow we have derfined racist as being only white.
1. Only whites can be racist
2. If another ethnic group is racist, refer to rule 1.
The link provided takes you to a SFO Chronicle article that suggests that, Because we did not pass that abortion of a bill that La raza wrote for uncle Teddy, the American people are somehow OK with the status quo.
Suggest that you follow the link provided to the author of that article and give her an alternate analysis of why the American people did not want that bill.
What could you expect coming from San Francisco and Dianne Feinstein?
La raza is nothing more than a bunch of racists.
Protestors, many without any status, are pushing policy. Playing the race card. Yet, hypocritically pushing only for
preferred status.
Now, the Senate is using the race card to push their policy.
The LA Times quoted Dianna Feinstein to that effect.
I disagree vehemently with the bill and am offended by their
use of the race card. It is not racist to want the best for our people, US citizens and legal immigrants.
I am appalled by the race card being played and have included comments about that in a letter to my state's Senator who voted for the bill.
"Yet, your colleague in the Senate Dianne Feinstein has likened grass roots Americans to racists. Is the Senate going to start playing the race card and generalize all Americans of any heritage who oppose the bill as racist?
We are not ignorant or racist. We are appalled by the behaviors of many protestors in this country waving the Mexican flag, shouting Viva La Mexico,
demanding rights they have no legal basis to claim.
Were these protests arranged to incite a public outcry?
I get mad everytime a Mexican complains how racist AMericans are by not allowing illegal immigrants to stay. They keep saying that we should open up our border because they are starving. Mexico is not a starving nation and half of all legal immigrants are Mexicans. Many have seen me write that If compassion is the main factor for immigration, we should let in more from India and Africa. I don't really even support that, because I worry that if we let people in to help resolve their overpopulation, it would further encourge the high birth rate.
