How come people believe that if you don't want a completely closed border, you automatically want a completel?
thats not true, i am in favor of immigration from other countries and do not want a completely open border. sure theres gotta be security, but that security needs to be watched. im tired of turning on the news and seeing that another innocent immigrant has been shot down violently by border patrol. and who knows what the minutemen do? nobodies watching them, for all we know their over there hanging a mexican in the middle of the desert right now. Think about it. a bunch of old men who want to shoot any immigrant crossing over with all their heart out in a remote area with immigrants and who have guns with them?
what we need is an easier legal process, not something that takes decades. or else, we will keep coming through illegally, nothing you can do.

Yes, there are things we can do to prevent you from coming illegally, don't kid yourself. And, frankly, I think the American people are waking up and so should illegal immigrants and would-be illegal immigrants. So, obviously, by your last statement in your question, you are an illegal immigrant. Therefore, you have no say in what we do with our border. Go back to your country where you will have a say in things. Unless you are here legally, you are a non-entity. You do not matter and you do not count, except for amongst those we shall deport. Why do you say we need "an easier legal process?" I hear on this forum all the time how "hard working" illegal immigrants are - why then do you need an "easier" legal process? Are illegal immigrants not able to comprehend filling out forms and doing things legally? If you are such hard workers, you should be able to work hard and figure it out. Comprende?

Many people think in black and white, so it's either open immigration or a totally sealed border.
At the moment, the border is only partially fenced, so what you want may be a reality. If the fence is only partial then someone can easily just walk until the fence runs out.
If there is no fence then too many migrants coming at once who go on welfare can have fiscal damage.
However, if there is a full fence then firms will face higher labor costs, lower profitability, goods prices will increase, etc.
We have to close our borders so we know who is coming into this country . We can let people enter the US .
We just need to know who they are and how long they will stay and what are they doing here .If you let someone enter your house wouldn't you ask them that ?

The boarder should be closed to illegal immigration ... it could be done, but the American government is completely ineffectual. It will remain as open as it is now ... we have already lost the southern third of the country. It seems that even many in congress quietly call a certain state the third world country of Florida. If I want to go to Mexico I would just stop in Texas .... same difference.
