Ok what should we do now after the immigration reform legislation has been killed?

please no ignorant answers..thanks

Answer:
HOW ABOUT ENFORCING THE LAWS THAT ARE IN PLACE DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS AND ARREST THE ONES HIDING THEM OUT THATS A FELONY
How about coming up with something that doesn't involve open borders and slave labor programs going forward?

Just a thought.
IT HAS NOT BEEN KILLED YET!! THERE IS STILL HOPE!!

AMNESTY 4 ALL!!!!

PROUD TO BE MEXICAN!!!!
To wait mr. war (G. W. Bush) come back and send all senators to work again in the same law poject
The only way to fix this problem is NOT by deporting illegals, but fine ALL businesses who hires them.It kills two birds with one stone. They will leave voluntarliy and we will generate income from these businesses who hire these workers...

This will cost money too, but not nearly as much as it would to deport 12-20 million workers...
We to revamp the legislation taking out amnesty.
Celebrate, then stay on our senators and congressmen so they don't resurrect the bill.
We should not be worried about sending those already here back, we should push for them to be citizens by choice, if they don't send them back but give a fair chance. Second, fine the businesses that employ them. Third, we should because of the war - put tighter restrictions on who is allowed in the country and who isn't. Unfortunately we need to work faster and depend on technology for this to happen and going forward the country has done this..but it takes time. I feel like we need to understand that immigrants are good for our country, they work in fields that most American's don't want to..like field labor.

Thus crack down on businesses, legalize those that are here and want to be, send those back that don't want to become citizens and tighten the screening process for becoming a citizen.
If you make the illegals already here citizens,it will be like a magnet for everyone south of the border, didn't we learned anything from 1986, there were 3 million then now it will be close to 20 million and next time might as well annexe mexico to the US and say good by to your paycheck
We should all rejoice, have a party, and hold out for something better:

1. Deport the 12 million or more illegals. Reject the asinine argument from the left that it is impractical and it can't be done. If they can't speak English, and they are in serious need of a shower, then, this is a clue! Hello? Also, if they are found to be "undocumented", then this is another clue. In such cases, Homeland Security, ICE, border patrol, local police, the National Guard, and others, ought to swoop down on these b*stards like stink on cah cah. Send them packing, and at their expense.

2 Crack down on employers who are addicted to cheap labor. Levy LARGE fines on them, jail time on bosses, but better yet, put such companies out of business, for good.

3. Forget about any wall along the USA/Mexican border. Instead, millions or land mines would be much more effective. BLAM! Another one bites the dust! Good idea!

4. Corporal punishment for offenders, before they are deported, is a vialble and wise option. Also, before deportation, it is a good idea to seize all assets from them, and put their ill gotten gains into the U. S. treasury, to be dedicated to enforcement of USA border security goals.

Teddy Kennedy and his ilk can all go to Hell. Tomorrow morning. Got it? We don't want undesireables here in the USA. The sooner losers realize this, the better off we are all going to be!

We don't care about any excuses, sob stories, or crappy arguments about why these undesireables ought to be allowed to stay. The fact is, they are mighty unwelcome. Cockroaches, be gone!
The borders must be closed, and illegal immigration ceased (or made insignificant). This is the only way Americans are going to be willing to talk amnesty (or anything even remotely related to).

Bush won't do that, perhaps his replacement will...if not then nothing will change...and we will be in the same state of things (which is still better than what that Bill proposed).
We should begin making more Federal prisons to accommodate all the undocumented immigrants. Since they will probably just say.
OK (F-This) new tactical strategies of foolish Americans that can't understand that before Freaking dying much better to reside at "Club Feds" all over the U.S. where one may get an education, plus job-skills,and an income for our job assignments within the "3-star" facilities. All at the expense of real tax payers!
And the more they get caught the more time to take advantage of tax payer's who rather have undocumented people sent to prison...

I can already imagine the 10-14 million mejicanos watching reruns of John Wayne w/side kick Pedro-Pedro Gonzales-Gonzales
Unfortunately the US isn't Sherwood Forrest. And the powers that be aren't going to take from the rich and give to the poor. I lived in Dallas, TX. when Ron gave illegal immigrants amnesty, which was suppose to curb the influx of illegal immigration. My most vivid memory of that time were the lines of people standing outside of the immigration office to apply for citizenship. It was at that point I realized how bad the problem was. It didn't work then, and it won't work now.
Or maybe they should dig a drainage ditch from California to Texas and place an electrified fence behind it and allow only 2 or 3 entry points in each state bordering Mexico to try and curb the illegal immigration problem. That's my bright idea.
The epitome of Liberal logic:

Don't send the CRIMINALS (that's what they are no matter what you spin on this subject) back to wherever they came from.

Make everybody who enters illegally tomorrow a criminal.

Make the Fed Gov responsible for doing criminal background checks on the 20,000,000 people they couldn't find in the first place.

YEAH! Sounds good to me!!!!!!

How about a little honesty...I know Mexicans in my neighborhood who hate the Cubans who came over on the Marrianne boat lift.
Securing our borders from the perpetual illegal crossings of persons wishing to enter the U.S. has never been about racism or nationalism.
Arresting persons committing illegal acts is the duty of every American.
Thomas Jefferson said that unless the citizenry is willing to participate in this experiment (democracy) it is doomed to fail.
We need to inform our representatives what we the American people want in the bill they plan on bringing up again.

As it stands - 1986 bill and laws are still in effect. Those need to be enforced. So is the 840 plus mile border fence that Bush signed into law not too long go. That still needs to happen and at a faster rate.

The government also needs to still add more border patrol and ICE agents.

We need to amend the law that fines employers, and businesses to a hefty $75,000 per illegal they hired or have hired. Take their businesses, homes/houses, vehicles, and send them to prison.

All law enforcement agencies need to get and have direct information on every criminal records in their system to also include international criminal records. This needs to be a nationwide system so any information comes up from past areas from which these criminals lived in any state or anywhere in the world. That way if anyone comes up - they get fined, jail time, and deported.

We need to cut off all assistance, and social program assistance to all illegals. And just like the businesses and employers who hire illegals, those who are assisting them also get punishment.

If we do not pound these issues home to the ones who are also breaking the federal immigration laws (and I mean the Americans, and American companies as well as the illegals) we're really not going to get anywhere with any reform bill now or in the future.
1. Reinstate the Immigration and Naturalization Laws.
2. Require all illegals to register.
3. Give a valid reason to remain in the U.S.
4. Allow them to leave voluntarily with an opportunity to return legally.
No, its not defeated the legislation and will come back over again, again till the immigration system is reformed. If immigration does not pass in the next two years it will come up a few years later, and legislation will come back because of massive retirement of baby boomers in the coming years.
Labor shortage in certain industries will force the issuse for a long time come. Globalization and technology is making it harder to actually enforce or excute immigration policy we have because lawyers, and contractors already game the system and looppoles in place. The needs to be upgraded, and its needs to relfect economic realty more so than politcal pandering on the extremes
Build fence. then DEPORT
This is a simple fix now!

1. Lock down the borders and build the fence 50 feet high

2. Hire many more Border Guards, and put National Guard troops on the Border as well.

3. Stop ALL the benefits that the illegals get! No social services, no medical care, no renting homes, etc, etc

4. Fix the "anchor baby" laws

5. Fine the crapola out of employers that hire illegals.the first time, 2nd time they do it, another big fine and say 6 months in jail, 3rd time, big fine, 2 years in jail and seize their business and assets and auction it off.

6. Make it a Federal crime for states to issue them driver's licenses.

7. If the are found here in the states, one giant "tent city" prison out in the middle of nowhere, to house them until they can be processed for deportation, and seize any and all assets, cash, etc they obtained in the states.

By doing these 7 steps, it will remove the "desire" to come here and work in the shadows. But I know this is just a dream, the Govt will never take these steps
Just pray to GOD, what else can we do? seems like this isn't going nowhere.
