Whose jobs are illegals taking I've never seen a bunch of white people working out in the hot sun all day or scrubbing toilets. There's a bunch of people who just decide to go on welfare and not work. Most immigrants come to the U.S. to work their a$$es off and better their family's lives.
That's a double edged sword. Yes illegals are taking jobs of citizens and those here legally but they more often then not are taking jobs most people don't want. Residing in TX, the odds that you'd have a white man mowing your lawn is so slim 9 out of 10 times its a Hispanic. I think citizens should be given the jobs in the US instead of illegals but like I said illegals take **** jobs no one else wants. Frankly I could careless if they left would be one less taco shack but oh well
Weren't y'all supposed to show us how valuable you were to the economy on May 1st? Don't you remember what the economists said? Barely a ripple. Also, the Dept. of Labor says that the avg. meatpacker in 1980 made 19 dollars an hour, and now makes about 8. Mind telling us how that helps Americans?
Especially since the cost of meat has gone up, in spite of wages going way down? Furthermore, it is also said that from the benefits of exploiting illegal workers, businesses have pocketed trillions, while the average worker suffers. After all, we are the ones who end up paying the taxes for the medicaid you use, corporations and wealthy individuals have private accountants who can find all the tax loops. Your not actually helping the average American or the economy, your just helping ruthless corporations and the richest of America to line their pockets just a little more.
The economy would probably soar because we would all be out buying party supplies for a big celebration.

But many firms rely on immigrants for labor and sending immigrants back with increase the costs of labor, which lowers profitability. This will translate into higher goods prices or inflation in general.

Yeah it would really slam the economy,I'm totally against amnesty but it is not at all practical to deport 12 million,they should be registered here an be able to work we will gain revenue from taxes.But I also believe that there should be some sort of economic punishment for sneaking in here maybe tax them at a higher rate with limited benefits and no benefits if they aren't registered and paying taxes.There should also be legislation passed that keeps them from remitting over a certain percentage of money back to their country on yearly basis if you send to much home you get taxed even higher,also they should have a five year block on application for legal status and they go to the end of the list,if these people are here we should take advantage of them not the other way around
I think it would get better because more money would be staying in the US than going to Mexico (or whatever country they are from).
The cost of production to consumers would only be about 2cents. If it were true about labor costs, why didn't the price of vehicles go down, since most of the auto industry moved their operations south of the border and the price of vehicles went up? There are plenty of homegrown high school dropouts that can do menial labor and lots of criminals that should be paying back their debts to society on farms and fixing highways.

The economy would without a doubt improve after we stop giving 12 million people health care, education, social security, and welfare and don't receive income taxes from any of them. Did you know that illegal alien households on average are estimated to use $2700 a year more in services than they pay in taxes. I still can't believe the idiots that claim that illegals help the economy when all they do is drain it.
Kick out immigrants, first prices on home construction would rise 5% to 10% range. Food costs would rise 10%. Labor costs would rise 4%. We have inflation, and economic contraction in the range of 5% to 10% range if it occured. Mexico, would be politcal economic upheaval that would spread across to Untied States in the form of economic deep recession. The Tercedos, and Goodie group dont realize kick out the migrants you just screwed people out of cheaper goods and services. I cant see a kid picking fruit even if it paid 15 bucks an hour because people want the desk job. Immigration reform starts with allowing more in from Mexico and Canada, and outside those countries you better bring PHd or lots of cash to invest to provide jobs for are own people.

I agree the crime rate would go down a lot. We would have less people on welfare defintely. Our economy would be way better than it is now. Tax payers wouldn't have to pay for illegals to get free health care and stuff.
Sure it would have an effect. But here's how I think it would go:
12 million illegals are deported, thus immediately creating 12 million more jobs for Americans who need work. Unemployment drops, and after a brief lag in the American economy caused by the sudden emptying of said jobs, the economy recovers and flourishes as those jobs are filled.
Hospitals are less crowded with patients needing care who can't afford it; privately owned hospitals are no longer in danger of closing because they're not turning a profit because the millions of illegals who demanded treatment and then didn't pay for it are gone.
Social Security begins a recovery due to the newly-employed 12 million legally employed Americans paying taxes on their legal wages as required by law.

The US economy would thrive, for many reasons, 75% of all crime is cosed from illegals, IE burglary, car theft, drugs, welfare, helthcare, the working wage would go up, freeing up tax payer money, less jobs for police thgo. it costs the US taxpayers $50,000 for every 5yr on one illegal immigrant. in 2010-20 the illegals will be around 1/4 the population of the US, Now take $50,000 times a trillion, IE you bread like rabbits. that is a lot of money!!!!!
