Answer:
No quotas anymore, so no reason to do it illegally except:
1) avoiding the felony background check;
2) avoiding the drug check;
3) avoiding the minimal job skills check;
4) avoiding the minimal U.S.A. knowledge check;
5) avoiding the serious contagious disease check.
Great people to let into the country, right?
Oh, and it is NOT a Hispanic issue. I find the way the Hispanic community has drawn all the attention to itself and called it a racist issue to be a racist act in itself.

Well, considering it's ILLEGAL, I'm hoping nobody's really for it.
Hmm, well, lemme see...It's illegal. That's all. There is perfectly legal immigration and then there's illegal immigration. I'm against illegal immigration as well as most other illegal acts.
I am against our laws being ignored. If people can not come here legally then they should be prosecuted according to our laws.
Against. I personally see the effects it is having on our men in the construction field as my 3 brothers are all in construction.
I think that it is sick that there are "Americans" that place the welfare of those not even legally in this country over those families that are citizens.

I'm against Illegal immigration. they don't pay taxes but they get the benefits of the country. that's not right. i shouldn't have to cover their end because they are breaking the law.
if you want to live here you should have to go through the same legal process as everyone else who became a naturalized citizen

Illegal immigration? No for me. Everyone who wants to be treated equally must come into a country legally. Pay taxes like the rest of us.
I am against any illegal act. Republicans want to give law breakers amnesty. All immigration should be threw legal application for citizenship. Quotes should be followed.

Against, for the same reasons all other countries are against illegal immigration.
Immigration if legal is good. Illegals are nothing else but trespassers and outlaws. The immigration system should be revised to allow south American citizen to be able to apply legally to come to this country. instead we have shut the door on them based on their already high number existing in the US. That was a mistake. legal immigration should be reopen that way we can sort and choose the right candidates to come live here and be legal. no more freebies for the outlaws.

We are at war, with the treat of terrorism every day. Yet we leave our borders open. This makes no sense.
I am supportive of those who are committed and serious enough about wanting to become an American citizen that they go through the entire legal process to become one. However, for those who enter illegally..of course I am not for that.

I'm not in favor of illegal immigration because it is first of all illegal. I don't believe in naturalizing illegals outside of the legal immigration process. I would also say that the INS is not adequately funded to handle this issue. There are other consequences to illegal immigration in that illegals use our infrastructure, but do not pay any taxes to support it. They often don't get adequate medical care which can lead to the spread of disease. Because they are illegal and have not been checked by the government they can bring new disease to our country. Many will take employment from legal citizens.
against, because it is illegal and we just let them get away with it, they are ILLEGALLY immigrating to our country and not enough is being done about it. If law enforcement officials knew that i was doing something illegal then i would get in trouble for it, but illegal immigrants are getting away with it. Also no-one can argue that if they could find them (like they would be able to find me) then they would arrest/deport them, the reason you cant just argue that is because illegal immigrants have held rallys, they announced that they were holding a rally and what major cities they would be in, so therefore police would of know exactly where to round them up because they announced where they would be. also they are given our rights as if they are american citizens but they dont fight for it or pay taxes for it (but they are able to get welfare even though they are illegal), when they held rallys, police made sure they were able to express their right to free speech and they protected them, but ILLEGAL immigrants do not have the right of free speech.

Because of the definition: ILLEGAL! That means that it's against the law. We have enough criminals in American, we don't need more.
Well, if we kicked everyone out of America who is here as a result of "illegal immigration" then the only people here would have a much darker skin tone than the majority that reside here currently... the Native American is the only "true citizen," and Africans were brought here against their will.
That being said, America is based on the immigrant. We would not exist without them, and we are who we are because of them.
I am opposed to ILLEGAL immigration, but perhaps the system needs some work so that we can welcome new Americans with more efficiency. I liked what the first person who responded said: "All legal, all welcome." Exactly! After all, this is America.
Against it. I can understand why so many want to change the wording to undocumented entry. The word illegal says it all, its just really hard to have a position of support when the very act itself is illegal and not just in this country.
I don't understand why some folks want illegal immigration. It's like saying, "you just risked your life crossing miles of hostile desert, and you lost some friends along the way. You were shot at. You're hungry, thirsty and hot but you made it. Congratulations, you get to pick tomatoes!"
How crazy is that system? Employers shouldn't be allowed to hire illegal immigrants because it perpetuates that corrupt system.
Furthermore, I've noticed a lot of illegals come here with racist attitudes towards black people. Legal immigrants have to be educated on our history in this country. That's one more reason to enforce legal immigration to protect society.
Legal...because illegal immigration attacks 2 pillars of the great success of this country and why it became great.
The first pillar is respect for the law, and the law being applied equally to all. We expect people coming here and living here to follow the law and all to get equal and fair treatment. Illegal immigration scoffs at the law, and mocks it.and says it only applies to some while others can ignore it. This is not the america that became great.
The second pillar is respect and fair treatment for citizens and labor, and that supply and demand determines prices, and that stacking the deck is not to be allowed and considered cheating. The greatest advances for the protection and fair treatment of workers were made here in the United States...and correspondingly made during a time when business was booming and america led the world in productivity and innovation. Illegal immigration tosses all those gains aside, and mocks them. It really takes us back to a robber baron type mentality where the idea is to exploit the worker by unleveling the playing field and artificially increasing the country's supply of labor to decrease the wages and benefits american workers can earn. This violates the concept of fairness to the worker..but also is a violation of the principle that the price of goods and services should be determined by supply and demand.something that goes to the gore of what america is all about.
Illegal immigration is just that. Illegals usually don't pay taxes,and this saves the employers both money and book-keeping and allows the employer to hold the illegals almost as slaves.The only person who benefits is the fat- cat employer who claims that Americans "won't do this work",when they really mean they won't do this work for the robber baron wages I'm willing to pay. Get the illegals legal,and let them organize into unions,and pay their fair share of taxes,and earn good wages, and have health insurance from their generous employers,so they won't be using the welfare system and bleeding U.S. citizens of their tax benefits.
If George isn't lying again,if there really is a terrorist crisis,then we MUST seal all of our borders,if the Latinos can enter illegally,then so can Al-Quaida. We are trusting the corrupt Mexican law-enforcement system to only let "guest workers" cross illegally. Is this a good idea? We should all be against illegal immigration. Our country is becoming bankrupt and there are still people out there who believe Bush is doing a good job. What will happen to Bush and Cheney if this country falls apart? Nothing, they are wealthy and have become more so since stealing the election.Bush owns a large ranch in South America. Illegals make a strain on our economy. They (not all) bring serious illnesses into our country and come here w/o medical records. They (not all) abuse the welfare system and public expences as the cost of the tax payers. They (not all) don't contribute back into the system what they take out.
People who come here legally are fine. But to come here illegally is just wrong.
As a 26 yr old hispanic women (us citizen) I think it's not okay b/c it is illegal,but they only come to the US for work it's not like they come over causing any problems it's really hard for them to support there young in a place where there is no money.I know it's not just hispanic people,but i bet if there was none here to do all the work that they do we won't have blacks or whites doing all that field work.Besides you benefit from there work.Who picked the last fruit,veg.u ate last night?
am for immigration, everyone came from somewhere. Now illegal immigrants can be given alien status to remian here, am all for it too.
