There is a job offer which may not last for 90 days for the EAD to arrive

Answer:
No, you need to wait until you received your EAD card. However, you might file an Interim EAD if you have not received a decision within 90 days of receipt by USCIS of properly field EAD application. You will need to go by person to your local USCIS district office. You must bring proof of identity and any notice that you have received from USCIS in connection with your application for employment authorization.
No you must have the card otherwise you are working illegally. And the employer should not have offered you a job unless you have the card. Just because you have done the paper work doesn't mean you are approved. Only approved once you have the card in hand. You legally can't even say you have a EAD unless you actually have it.
