The generally accepted estimate is 12 million to 20 million. In my experiences both in dealing with illegal aliens and in traveling the country I would say that there is a good probability that 20 million is closer to being correct.
I would say over 20 million. And more coming every day.
There are REAL numbers out there if you do some research. Why would you ask for some persons estimate?

There is a difference between someone saying "There are 10,000." or "There are none." then the more obvious real number (confident 'guesstimate') of 20 million. Common sense folks. In other words...for the ones who don't understand...10,000 would not be a 'real' count/guesstimate or whatever you want to characterize it as.
The last update is about 13,000,000. I dont think this even close, its allot more than that. Now the illegals are getting smarter. They work, get hurt, hire and Attorney, and get million of dollars. Happened in Murengo ILLINOIS USA illegal hired an attorney, won the law suit and was awarded over 2.5 million dollars. He with all his friends, relatives and all the people from his home town in Mexico to live in his 1 bedroom house. Ever seen how many people can fit in a 1 bedroom 900 square foot house?? We have seen over 18. These illegals drive right on the speed limit, so they dont get pulled over. Make them nervous, pull out a camera and act like your taking pictures. You can literally see them start to sweat. Funny as hell. I wonder why there family tree dont grow straight up with no branches!!
They keep on mentioning 10-12 million, one third, presumably with expired visas, the rest coming across the borders or in cargo ships.
If any government agency or anyone knew for sure, it would mean they actually knew where they lived and could not justify not applying the law and sending them wherever they came from, so, it is possible they are less and the figure was inflated to push a justification for amnesty.
If the 12 million figure is about accurate and the amnesty of all of them went through, they would have had the right to bring, at least one wife/husband and kids...raising the figure to, at least 48 million... in a country of 300 million, it would mean no government service can cope with the 16-20% increase (not in the US or any other country). Unemployment, school, medical and social services would be bankrupt within 2 years.
We must also consider the fact that an undocumented worker may be using any name (does not have means to prove who he/she is). So... a government agency, such as Inmigration (as part of Homeland Security) which justifies the current state of affairs in the "fact" that they "cannot" handle sending back 12 million, could presumably process and check 48 million?
I believe 12-20 million is a very conservative "ballpark" figure used by our government to mislead the American public; which is something this administration did on many other major issues. A little at a time, the truth has come into view on just how much corruption and lying this President & his administration are capable of. Being it's fed to us in small doses, it allows the American public to become desensitized somewhat to the issues. However, if you were to list them; they are certainly an eye opener as shown by this President's continually dropping approval rating.
I believe 30 million is a more solid estimate and I wouldn't be surprised if there are 40 million illegals in this country. Where did the government get their 12-20 million figure from? I believe that is their estimate for those recorded that now have expired visas; so what about all of those that jumped the border and had no visas to begin with?
Note: There are no "real numbers" unless they stood at the border and counted them coming in 24/7. They are all just guesstimates.
