I may be oversimplifying the situation but could we not just make it less attractive to be in the US illegally
Answer:
This runs so much deeper than you realize, I think. One already cannot get a state ID or license without proving you are a resident. The problem is, is that many illegals travel here with stolen identities or fake identification. Just recently an owner of a local restaurant here in Virginia was busted for hiring a group of illegal immigrants. They all had stolen identities, or posed as a legal family member, complete with state driver's licenses, so even the owner didn't know they weren't legal. How are we to combat this when it appears an immigrant is legal?
I do agree with every point you made though. Something has to be done. It's just hard, because of the ways they're getting around it as described above, and the fact that the race card has been pulled out. If we speak out against it, we're automatically branded a racist. Maybe I'm starting to become one. I know that I'm damn tired of being flooded with hispanic culture all over the place, from Dora the Exporer, Go Diego Go, 75 Spanish cable channels, and press 2 for Spanish. Ugh. I just want to scream some days.
Yes, that is right, and another thing, not allow them to apply for food stamps, and take the press 2 for Spanish out of the messages on phones.
I think that's good, but better would be for us to stop meddling in Latin America and keeping it poor and desperate.
You know, we've invaded Nicaragua dozens of times, we put down the democratic progress in Yucca tan, we keep supporting corrupt dictators in mexico.
We are reaping what we sowed. Again.
So, until we work to make things better there, and until we stand up for the rights of every worker to decent pay, safe workplaces, and human rights, we won't have any security ourselves.
(There won't be no peace, till man gets equal rights and justice.)
Here's a simpler solution. Just enforce the law.
I'm with ya! Did you know in most states, they give the drivers license tests in Spanish?!? And let's stop with the free medical care already. When most American citizens have babies, they pay for the delivery and hospital care. How come these illegals cross the border and continue to multiple like Rabbits and never have to pay a dime for ALL those kids? They just pop 'em out every 9 months, at U.S. taxpayer expense.
But what do I know? I'm just a Rabbit.
No its Logical, stop printing every damn thing in Spanish.
Those are good ideas. I can't see how their lives seem attractive in any way. They live in hovels and sneak around, I can't imagine that kind of life. It may be more attractive than Mexico or Latin America but they are only here for the money. They don't want to be Americans, it's too complicated for them to comprehend.
We COULD - it would be enforcing the laws, saving money out of our pockets (making things bi-lingual costs money, you know), our birth centers could be open to actual citizens who needed them, etc. There are so many benefits, and it would be an easy system to implement.
Would, of course, except for those damn bleeding hearts getting in the way each and every time.
I think that it has a lot to do with the law of supply and demand..if folks here continue to supply jobs for these people then they will keep flooding into the country. We need to enforce the law and prosecute all business owners for hiring illegals...they should be required to pay a large fine and then on top of that..pay the State and Federal Taxes that the immigrants didn't pay..out of their own pockets. We need to hang, draw, and quarter folks who pander to illegals in any way.
It Is already a federal crime for a bank to loan money to an illegal alien, aiding, and abeiting... The federal government chooses not to hold businesses accountable for anything that Is already ILLEGAL! Our own federal government Is aiding and abeiting criminal illegal aliens, and It must stop. People In the federal government should be proscecuted, for their crimes!
don't give free education or food stamps or state insurance...outlaw sanctuary cities...
yes, we could and should.
We already have tons of immigration laws. They are not being enforced.
More laws won't mean anything if they are not enforced!
