How long does a passport application expiteted take to get in the system in order to print proof of applicatio
Answer:
If you go to the post office (or other location - check the state dept web page) you have to pay $30 per person more but they give you a receipt there. Otherwise they say it takes a couple weeks to get into the system so you can track it on line (check the State Dept web page for that status, too. Just put 'passports' in the search bar.)
Unfortunately, the moratorium that allows you to show proof of application doesn't apply to new applications requested after the announcement. Sorry!
In the UK it can take forever.. especially during the summer season!
Printed proof of application? No such thing. You need an actual passport ... nothing else will work.
You have to pay for expedited shipping ($16.25 each way) and $127 to the State Department and $30 for processing (and $15 for pics if you get it done at the Post Office) ... and you should get your passports within 2 to 3 weeks.
So between you and hubby, prepare to shell out about $400. Is it really worth it ... just to go to some poor, corrupt, dirty third world country? Have fun!
