Answer:
The affidavit of support is only good for 5 years.

Contact your county's social services department and request assistance (temporary housing, employment, legal) for a battered woman.
The sponsor is really just supposed to make sure you don't become a public charge. He's responsible if you collect welfare or something like that illegally and the government can go after him for that money. But, that doesn't mean he's supposed to be the sole working person.
That aside, you could've applied for you citizenship 3 years after you got your permanent resident card.
Get your citizenship then leave the loser. I know that's easier said then done. Stick with it a bit longer, apply for your citizenship. Then, check out shelters for women going through domestic abuse. Many areas have "Safe Houses" you can stay at till you have a downpayment for an apartment. After that you could probably sue him, but, more then likely they won't be able to get him to pay anyhow.
Fri st you should get Legal Aide from were ever in your county its located , its free and they should answer all your legal question . I think you should divorce him . It but i also think that you are in tiled to citizen ship since you are legally married .
sorry about your situation. Most communities have free help for battered women, including divorce.
You can keep you legal status if you PROVE that you are not married for the sole intent of being a legal alien in the USA.
Your destroyed card is a federal crime, you need to report him for that and file criminal charges for abuse.
After 2 years, you can walk into an immigration aoofice and declare that the marriage was a sam and they are legally blocked fro deporting you.
Legal resident aliens are eligible for citizenship after 5 years of consecutive, legal residency (meaning that you cannot have had residency for two years, moved out of the USA, visits are allowed, and moved back for 3 years, that is 5 years, total, but not consecutive)
Based on the listed affidavit signed, by him, as your sponsor, you should be able to divorce him, stay in the USA, and sue for support that can be garnished from his wages, as he made a contract with the US government to support you for a limited time.
You want a divorce, but you still want to live from him? Do you really think that if he is not supporting you now he will do it when you are divorce? If he mistreat you then get away from him, call the police, if the problem is the ID then go to the country's' consulate and request a passport, also apply for a new resident card (form I-90).

That is if your situation is as bad as you say, cause you say nothing about your job, or what do you do to help him with the bills; it seems you just enjoy living from him, and if you were just using him, and now that things are not going your way and you want him to take care of everything without helping at all, then you deserve what you have.

If you are suffering so much, another option is going back to your country or it is worst there?
call 311 and ask for the Domestic Violence line, also whenever he get's out of hand call police, and get an order of protection for you and kid if you have any, the domestic violence line, can help you with housing, inmigration issues, and everything that you may need, please do not be afraid and call them inmediately they are going to help you come out of this situation. good luck.
