Anybody know why FBI background immigration checks take so long?

Answer:
lots of work and not enough bodies to do it
I read that they only have two people at the FBI who run those. That seems unbelievable but was supposed to be one of the big reasons the fees were going up, to hire more people. There was a bottleneck any time a name was kicked out by the computer check (even if it was a 'same name' thing).

I can't swear to it, but it was in the mainstream press.
because is not only you to been check
It should take just as long as it takes for a mexican to cross the border...
