I suppose theoretically it could be amended, but it would take years and it would never happen. Our Constitution hasn't been amended since the voting age was lowered to 18.

All you have to do is get both houses of Congress to pass a constitutional amendment, then have it passed by the requisite majority of state legislatures, then get it signed by the affected Governors and President.

It could be, but it's not likely. No one would vote for it. I wouldn't. I wouldn't allow anyone born in another country to be president.

The US Constitution states that : The President must be a natural born citizen of the United States (or a citizen of the United States at the time the U.S. Constitution was adopted), at least 35 years of age, and a resident of the United States for at least fourteen years.
So, you can be hispanic (both parents can be mexican nationals, but you have to be born here) and be president, but you can not be born in Mexico and be president.
It would take a constitutional amendment - which ain't easy.
A law can always be amended but it must passed through the halls of the Congress. A Mexican can run for US President if majority of the members of Congress are already sympathethic with the Mexicans who can amend the law in their favor.

No. The qualifications for the President of the United States are set forth in the Constitution. It will require a constitutional amendment to enable a non-native born citizen to become president. Similarly it would take a constitutional amendment to enable a non-citizen to become president. (I would not bet the ranch on either amendment being enacted)
I think a lot more than a law change would have to occur. Maybe if the U.S. was infiltrated by Mexicans in hordes it would change. Wait a minute... I see what you're up to.
I'm affraid not... You would first need to appoint the Supreme Court Justices who would uphold any law made like that, then you would need to take over the congress at the election ballot, so they could introduce the bill, pass it, then override the Presidential Veto. Then, after all of that, 2/3 of the states would need to ratify it (38 State Legislatures and Governors). Finally, the ratified law would go before the US Supreme Court... Good luck!

No you couldn't change the law. I think you'd have to change the Constitution. To be President, you have to be American born (not naturalized) and you have to be 35 year old I believe.
You need to have Constitutional Amendment a bill to pass both houses of the legislature, by a two-thirds majority in each. Once the bill has passed both houses, it goes on to the states. 2/3 of the states need pass the Amendment.

We have people who are citizens that have Mexican heritage and they can run for President just like any other natural born citizen. Why would anyone want a foreigner to run a country they are not a citizen of? Do you think Mexicans want an American running their country? I wouldn't vote for any Mexican-American who was more tied to Mexico than America. One word about "their people" and they would loose votes. This country has lots of different people and the little infiltration game is being caught on to.

Yes Any law may be changed - his would require either an ammendment to the constitution or Mexico (or its constituent parts) becoming a state of the union.
I was wondering too if they are fleeing Mexico due to high levels of corruption why would they want more officials here when . Our system is for our people . I just think don't anyone is ready for a Mexican president in this life time.
