not that i know of. we get a lot of exchange students at my school and they can speak whatever language they want to.

I do not think it is against the law,unfortunately.It is spoken by students and teachers alike in Texas and has been for years.

Speaking ANY language other than English in school should be banned. (unless, of course, you are in a language class learning a foreign language)
That's why it's called a FOREIGN language. Speak it in your home or in private...IT IS RUDE to speak it in public !
Hey Dogsnoop, I see you are backwards again.
This is what we used to call immersion assimilation. It was done for all languages, not just Spanish. Theory was that if you heard nothing but English, and your responses were not accepted unless they were in English, you'd learn English. This is still done for every language except Spanish. The invasion is so strong our teachers are forced to learn Spanish as a second language to teach English as a Second Language to the Hispanic children. Again, problem with this approach is that all other languages are still expected to assimilate to the US Culture while the SPANISH speaking immigrants expect the US to assimilate to their culture. As far as a law, they're rolling that up in the No Child Left Behind Act and calling it progressive education. If it were truly progressive, my 1/2 Korean nieces and nephew would have been taught bilingually in Korean and English...They weren't, they were expected to assimilate.
Unless it's in the class room, you can speak what ever language you want
