I need a police clearance from the US as a part of my Visa application. How do i go about this?

Answer:
You should go to your local police dept. and ask them to run a printout of your history. Usually if you live in US you don't need police certificates. check out the Foreign Affairs Manual-reciprocity fee listings at the state dept. website.
Rob the closest store you can find
Go to your local Police Dept. fill out the form and it cost $2 or $3, wait about 15 minutes while they do a computer check on you and then they will give you two letter stating your status as It checked out on the computer.
