In general do you think most countries get crapped on by immigrants, legal or not?
It seems like the English language is evaporating. It seems like some immigrants think the English language is not important and it goes to the way-side. It also seems as though some immigrants are just completely and utterly disrespecting our flag. They fly their flag from their home country that they fled in a supposed attempt at 'pride' and the flag of the country they live in is forgotten.
Is this a borderline moral issue? I think so. Is it disrespectful to the country that harbors them? I think so.

we're being abused by illegals as far as our system and taxes goes. i have nothing against legals. i work with a person from australia, and he's a very nice person. he's legal.

The USA is entirely made up of immigrants except for the Native Americans since they came 5-10,000 years ago.
We don't speak English in the USA, we speak American or American English if you will. It is the richest language in the world because it has added so many words from around the world. That has allowed it to be the preferred languange for international use.
The last wave of immigrants has complained about the latest wave of newcomers since this nation began. When the Chinese, Irish and Italians came people hated them. And if you go to any of their concentrated areas (like Little Italy) you'll see their flags, culture and language. it didn't ruin this country, it made it better. Unless you hate Italian and Chinese food or have never had any fun on St. Patrick's Day.
I'm glad there is great Mexican food around me. I know a lot of children of immigrants - none of them speak Spanish any better than i do and are as American as I am.

Yes, i think most do. My husband left a communist country 35 years ago and I am not just saying it because he is my husband but he is a pretty smart guy with manners. He said that many of the young men that he ran into at the refugee camp he was in were trouble makers. Not the married guys or the older people. Later he was in Sweden and he said the Swedes where so sweet and nice , they used to leave their money outside of their doors for the milkman. The immigrant young guys would go around and steal the money.Also the young Swedes at night clubs would get into a little dispute with someone and there would only be name calling.The imigrants would kick their butts. He said he was embarassed to be an immigrant and put in the same mold has the holiguns.
My husband is an English speaking immigrant to Australia, and loves this country, and is now a citizen. A lot of non-english speaking immigrants, refugees or not , seem to be complete takers, and use our resources, welfare etc, and give no loyalty in return. They still refer to their country of origin as "Home" and refuse to assimilate at all; still speaking only their old language, wearing only their customary clothes, and eating only their countries food. I feel that lessons on our countries laws and cultures would go a long way to making immigrants fit in better, and be better accepted.
No, I disagree with that statement. I think immigrants who choose to become US citizens are proud and hard working. They come looking for the American dream, start their own businesses from very little capital and thrive.
Immigrants from other first world civilized countries aren't a problem; the third world invaders are. It is a clash of civilizations.
Stop harping on immigrants.The first immigrants from Europe who came through Ellis Island, were also very poor and some were even criminals.Ever heard of the Irish, Jewish and Italian gangs? They terrorized other immigrants, with mafia like tactics, businesses had to pay them brides for protection.And many didn't speak English but their native language.It takes at least one generation to assimilate..I think you talk about respect, but respect is earned, not given...If you think an immigrant is going to respect people like you, when you bash them and talk trash about them, you are wrong.Respect is mutual, so learn to respect other peoples cultures, afterall, isn't that what makes our country great, is our diversity? You think everyone must be the same, we are not robots, we all have a history and a culture we are not going to abandon, just to fit your definition of what an American HAS to be.
Yes, atleast the developed ones. Those who preach tolerance go to far and let some of the immigrants walk all over them. The ENglish who come to this site complain about the Polish and occasionally the Muslims. The French has it's problem with the North Africans. I even that the Turks are taking advantage of Germany. And then Remember what happen in Denmark. THere are those who are so arrogant that when they immigrate into a country they expect an entire nation to accomadate them. In the Developing countries, Outside the Western Countries, some of the immigrants would end up in Prison or dead for the stunts they play. The funny thing is my examply of inconsiderate immigrants in Singapore are Americans. A group of AMericans kids was caugh vandalizing Mercedes in Singapore. THose who were over 18 was caned. Clinton tried to force Singapore to stop it , but the UN defended SIngapore and stated that it was none of the US business. That when people immigrate to Singapore, the immigrants has the obligation to follow the culture and the law of the host nation. TO me it's racist for an immigrant to not to try to assimilate. It's a statement that their culture is better than ours. If they don't like our culture, they shouldn't come here
My first attempt to answer this question was lost somehow so I'll try again, the legal immigrants are not bad, it's the illegals that are destroying our country. In their effort to have pride and recognition to each other, they have alienated the American people. The saddest thing is that we don't want them and neither did the countries they came from. It is the height of rudeness and disrespect to demand rights and to dishonor our flag when you are only a stones throw at being deported anyway. I hope we can rid our nation of those who so boldly treat our laws with such contempt. I don't want this type of person for a neighbor! I do think it is a moral issue.
