On illegal immigration workers - why aren't companies who hire then held accountable?
Answer:
Yes, and they should fined and send to jail, they are the key to the lure of the illegals
Why aren't farmers accountable??
Politicians on both sides don't want to enforce our laws.
Bush isn't ready to fine his friends or send them to prison just yet. He's going to leave that to the next President to do.
Because they'll just say, "They provided me with the "proper" documents I needed, I'm not an ICE agent to start tracking down people who use fake documents"
Which is basically true! It's not their job to track down who is illegal and who's not!
Right now its to easy for them to just say, the Id and ss card looked good.
I do not know.. I have been studying this mess for a long time and have blogged this for a long time but to no avail... I am very scared of this whole mess
Truth be told... It is all a matter of money.
Companies contribute to the national economy through manufacturing and in some cases exportation of goods. They also effect the local communities which house them through job opportunities. This is a high dollar situation. If a million or billion dollar company is closed down for any period for investigation into illegal immigrant hiring it impacts more than just the company. It effects the community around the business and its clients which costs even more money.
It is easier for the govt. to collect the illegal immigrants and deport them. Not that it really matters. Where one illegal immigrant is deported there are still at least three waiting in the wings to take his place on the job.
If they are being hired to work 'under the table' how can it be proved they are working?
What about people that hire them to cook and clean and nanny their children, in the privacy of their home.
when i first got home from w Germany from the hospital for my wounds in gulf war 1 . i looked for jobs and one of the first places was a construction place in Illinois . the looked @ me like "ha " ain't gonna hire yo black az even tho your well qualified . we can hire10 Mexicans to work for far less and they will love it. lo and behold as i was filling out my app(suit clad) mind I you have an construction/ engineering back ground two Mex illegals come in dressed in flannels and get hired immediately guess it was my fault huh??
THEY ARE SCUM
They SHOULD be. They should be fined $10,000 for each and every illegal immigrant that they employ. NO negotiation, NO excuses, NO slap-on-the-wrist.
And if it bankrupts them, well, it's their own damn fault for using illegal business practices in the first place.
(Gotta say, I'm really curious as to who gave this answer a thumbs-down... and WHY?)
Someone in the big chair is getting "kickbacks",,,,,,,
Because that's the real answer, pressure employers. not a symbolic but largely useless fence to rival the great wall of China at huge cost.
Real penalities on employers are needed to end the debilitating mass immigration and improve the economy of Mexico as human capital moves back - an economy China is now investing in as it advances in the goods it produces, exporting its low skilled industries to Mexico.
Debate over immigration is never put into the context of population and numbers. In the 1950s immigration and labour help, from Mexico was not a big deal as the whole population of mexico was only 27m people in relation to the US's population of 160m people. Wages and family formation of US citizens was not affected by such small influxes.
Now Mexico's population is 104m people. Even a small %age migration is massive in sheer number terms on the US's existing production structure, and US citizens jobs wages and family formation.
