How many of you heard this Story also (.#2)?

Alvin York, Medal of Honor. For taking 132 German prisoners, killing 25 enemy troops.

Guy Gabaldon, Captured 1,500 Japanese soldiers and civillians in Saipan, at the age of 18, A movie was made of his life, called "From Hell To Eternity" but the movie changed Gabaldon from a short Mexican American from East LA to a tall blonde blue-eyed Jeffery Hunter.
I am not trying to decredit the war Hero, Alvin York ,I am doing a comparison of their deeds.
When you check the facts of Japanese surrenders in the following battles,
Guadalcanal 2 garrisons fought to extinction, reinforced 800 fought to the death,15 surrendered
Attu -2350 , 29 surrendered
Tarawa -2600, 8 surrendered
Makin Island- 300, 1 surrendered
Marshall Isands_ 8500, 130 surrendered
Iwo Jima, Pelileu , Okinawa had a surrender rate of 3%

Thats what made Guy Gabaldon actions such an outstanding Heroic act of the war!
Did he get a Medal of Honor, ? NO!!
Bigotry! that is the simple fact..!

Answer:
Of course it is. I read your first part of this argument, as well.

I remember hearing stories when I was growing up: "Irish need not apply"; when my Irish Catholic grandfather moved his family "out to the country," which was in a predominantly Protestant small town, they arrived at their house under construction one day, and witnessed burned crosses jammed in their front yard. Same bigotry happened to Italians, Poles, Jews, Russians, Asians... (Check the volumes of actors whose "ethnic-sounding" names were changed so they could more easily find work.)

It is an integral part of the fabric of immigration, and it is shameful.

That said, this doesn't have anything to with illegal immigration, though I understand your unspoken argument that those who protest against illegal immigrants are merely masking their prejudice.

That is, by and large, a myth. Legal immigrants ADD to the fabric of our democracy; illegal immigrants DETRACT from the fabric of our democracy -- no matter where they come from.
Sure seems like it
You say he was a short mexican or a short American? He cannot be both.
I know soldiers during Desert storm that single handedly captured large groups of enemy. Does that mean they should have a medal? No!
Alvin York single handedly defeated German soldiers that were well armed, well trained and motivated. Gabaldon captured Japanese soldiers that were defeated and out of ammo. Big difference here.
I think that you are the bigot!
Great story , but it really doens't have anything to do with the ILLEGAL immigration in America
