If some one reports illegals working with out proper paper work, is any thing ever done about it?

I know of some illegals who have taken over most of my work in the area I work in. I am a sub contractor and I work by my self because I can not afford to hire any one. They work cheap, and there are lots of them to my one, so they can do more jobs faster. They basicly have run me out of work. Is this fair? I know that in California it is basicly typicul and no body seems to care. But I believe that these people are jumping ahead of those who have gone through the steps legally. And they are taking my only source of income away. What can be done about this?

Answer:
Apparently nothing is done about it.
I reported all details on people forging papers here in the USA to present to immigration officials to adjust their status to legal from illegal; They get typewriters with the script or letter system used in their country; then they get someone from their home country who is here legally to let them copy their papers, and then on the copy they white out all the information of the other person and put in their own - like a birth certificate, etc, and submit such forged documents to immigration to seek adjusted status - some of which show they have been here 10-15 years whereas they were only here for less than a year. Most go to Canada and then cross into the USA so there is no record here of when they came.

They have it all figured out and when you give all the informaiton to the Immigration service, its impossibler to find anyone there who is interested in even seeing the informaition. They have an immigration fraud hotline number which is nothing more than an answering machine asking you to leave information and your name and number, and you do so but they never call back.

I told immigration by a letter, how they remain hidden, working and having bank accounts: putting their addresses on the accounts at churches they can go to to get their mail, or ethnic association offices where people there would hide their location, and their real names. Immigration never replied, never acted against the persons I identified.
Just do the best you can at your job...
I think all of this will soon change.

No, it isn't fair, and no it is not legal. What you "could" do is call ICE on the company who is "hiring" them. Most times nothing is done about it, but you will not be happy with yourself if you don't try. Another idea that you could do is call the licensing department on the people. You may want to call the IRS too...tell them that you can pretty much guaranty that you know of a person who has tax evasion going on.

All I can tell you is good luck...I hope you are able to get something done about it.
I have heard this same story before. It is really a bad situation. The quality of life in the US is going way down because of cheap labor.I am not sure if anything can be done at this late date. We should of seen this coming 20 years ago when we started shipping out manufacturing jobs.Personaly I have pretty much given up on our goverment doing anything in the near future. It is the snow ball effect, what hits one industry hits them all sooner or later....
Truth be told most likely not.. I have a friend who is a customs agent and he told me they are too bust chaiseing really bad guys to worrie about people who are just working here.
Questions such as this the pro-illegals are silent on, because they know they have no response that makes sense.

They might come back with the race card or something...or some other foolishness, trying to change the subject or divert attention away from the REAL issue here.
Every illegal you see working is stealing a job, a livelihood from an American. I know lots of folks working in food & beverage and construction, those wages and quality have really gone downhill. You used to could make a living in those jobs.
just keep reporting over and over.. it sure couldnt hurt

maybe the minutemen would have some ideas on the topic. Check out anti-illegal sites and inquire
