i'm a u.s. citizen but i was born out of the country. keeping that in mind, i recently lost my passport,ss card and citizenship certificate but i have copies of all of them. i need to get a passport done before november 2007 because i'm going out the country. does anyone know what i need to do and how i can get the passport?

Answer:
Read the directions from this site and try to be as accurate and complete in answering all their form's questions. You were correct to have photocopies of all your documents. It will save you a lot of time to replace these lost documents. Hindsight, maybe just carry the photocopies with you (citizenship certificate, ssn card).**
go to the post office with the paperwork that you get from the web link below
Call the passport office and explain what happened, then take all your photocopies in, they may or may not take them. File to get everything replaced, and stop carrying the originals.

It should not be too much of a hassle, because you are already in the system, you just have to prove that you are really you.
