How do I go about getting a green card ??

I am canadian and my husband is American We were married 3 months ago and I am currently residing with him in the us I was wondering about applying for a green card and permanent residency and if I am allowed to stay here or If I am going to have to go back to canada till I get my card...

Answer:
just get an immigration lawyer and he would help u. he would give u applications or something and fill them out. when ur done give them to ur lawyer and he or she would transfer them. then probably sometime soon u will receive a letter saying that ur papers are being transferred by u.s. homeland security. and wait for another letter saying when u have an appointment for immigration just to see if ur aprooved or not! i hope this helped kinda on ur situation!
you will have to go back to canada to wait for your card or they will charge u for being here illegally! he can go to the ins website and get a form to request permission to bring you here since u are his spouse!!I dont remember what the form is called sorry
