my friend is a labourer
he worked for £70 a day and worked hard
polish worker turns up and works for £40 a day
people like him are getting undercut in the wages department and because of the polish worker he is now unemployed this is happening to a lot of people i know even at my work place a lot of friends were made redundant and then 'replaced' with polish workers (who work for £3 less an hour then what i do)
so NO immigrants are not doing the jobs that we dont wanna do at all!!!

YES YES YES. they arent doing anything of the sort. i read a newspaper advert for builders which specified, actually specfied "no british applicants." if it had said "no polish workers" there would have been uproar. 'human rights' lawsuits all round.
i noticed they are all now selling the big issues too

Even it is true, ( and I agree with you it is not ) what gives them the right to decider what our immigration policies are going to be.
I agree I live in the US and worked on a farm when i was a teenager side by side with illegals. The problem is business owners do not want to pay the going rate for laborers. They share a big part in the blame too.

I worked at Wal - Mart once, and with the computer skills I had, aswell as my knowledge of firearms, tools, and knives..I was put in as a janitor.
Wow.We are in the same boat in the USA,welcome to the club.I don't know too much about the UK,but I know that many companies prefer to hire immigrants because they are not as demanding as us wanting to be paid a fair wage,vacation,health benefits,retirement,401k,etc.W... I asked a local resuranteur why he no longer hired the college students he used to hire for the kitchen he replied" I rater hire these people,they're good workers and they keep their mouths shut."
Immigrants are not taking our jobs they are having the pee taken out of them by the British people who employ them . Why do we always blame immigrants ? We should be getting in touch with the powers that are to complain that if a job comes up who ever applies for it has the same circumstance should be paid the same. I am talking about legal immigrants . Many countries economy's would of gone under if it hadn't of been for foreigners working and living in their countries .
Just because we are born in one country doesn't mean we can't live and work in another country . I hope if I moved to a nother country again I would be treated fairly .

About 2 million immigrants are doing work no one else wants to, about another 5 million are filling positions that factories cannot fill with legal residents, and another 5 to 8 million are taking jobs that Americans can and would do, but the wages are being undercut by illegals.
The thought that they are only doing jobs Americans won't is a lie, but so is the idea that the American economy doesn't need the illegals that are here. We may not ned all of the illegals here, but the economy would not be as good without about half of them being here.

I'm sure some of them are. Is this a job that you would do for less pay? If not, then the statement is correct, but leaves out one bit of info - "Immigrants are doing the jobs the rest of us don't want to do for so little pay."
Not that that makes the situation any better.
It isn't so much the jobs we don't want, but that they are willing to do the same job for much, much less. I blame the employers for offering such scandalous wages, not the people trying to find better lives for themselves and their families.
Some of those unskilled jobs pay a very good wage (until the illegals get involved) and I see people (citizens) standing in line for employment all the time especially construction jobs, and yes I am tired of hearing it.
It is a PC statement made by the pro illegals and employers who want to drive down wages, to make the citizens of the countries that have large populations of immigrants think that the illegals are serving a much needed purpose.
I just read an article on the BBC that states that at Victoria coach station in London is processing 2,000 imigrants from Eastern Europe alone each week. This is ridiculous. Our country just isn't big enough. By this I am stating racism just a fact.
well, at least we ain't alone,(the US), this is how the Americans feel about the illegal immigrants coming across our borders to "do the jobs Americans won't do". They also bring in frigging terrorist that sneak in amongst them from our northern and southern borders and the Government doesn't want to hurt their feelings by making them go home when they get caught. I agree I live in the United States and we have to deal with the people from Mexico and central America. They drain our health care, take jobs, and suck up all the resources. When I was growing up in the late 60's and 70's American citizens did all the jobs but now almost all of the lower jobs (not requireing a degree) are taken by hispanics (school cafeterias, mades, cleaning services, contruction, etc). What is really sick where I live is that I need legal help but cannot find an organization that willhelp me since the state organizations won't do it and all I find is special interest groups that give free legal help to illegal alliens. I remember when teenagers used to work at fast food places but now it is all immigrants.
good question, but scorpion has it right, dont blame the workers blame the employers. take action, where do you spend your money, are they employing immigrants if so shop elsewhere but tell the vendor why you will be shopping elsewhere and tell your friends and family to do the same. it is all about one thing.GREED.
My husband is a qualified electrician, who pays his dues. He quite often is called out to repair the damages done by immigrants. Two of them were so dangerous it is a wonder the owners of the house weren't killed. And when he reported it to the council, with the address of the immigrant, they dismissed his complaint. Apparently they could only have done something if someone had been hurt.
I would not use a cheap immigrant electrician because it could kill you.
Maybe employer's/business's need investors in order to survive!

No, maybe they aren't but it's obvious that they are willing to learn the job (so that they are qualified) and then do it for less and 9 times out of 10 they do it a hell of alot better than you would.
This is the reason why: because they work so that they can SURVIVE. As Americans you are eligible for all kinds of benefits such as food stamps, unemployment, TANF, Medicaid, Medicare, WIC, etc. etc. etc. But immigrants are not so if they lose an opportunity at makin money (even if it is ONLY $40/ day) then they don't have a back-up . Because that is what they will use to care for their families with. You have to remeber most immigrants leave everything behind. Usually, they are in debt as soon as they reach this country because they didn't have the money to make the trip in the first place. This is why so many immigrant families are of low-income and live like so. Just like when an All-American family loses all of their resources they live in a project neighborhood, even then though they are getting gov't support. An immigrant however does not get that. So hell yea they will work for alot less but only because they have no choice.
That statement makes me sick!!! Whenever they have a raid to round up the illegal aliens for deportation, the jobs they had are all taken IMMEDIATELY by the Americans that should have had them all along!
Deport all illegals and jail the employers that hired them. WE DON'T NEED THEM! If there are SMALL increases in the cost of items, it will be much smaller that the BILLIONS of dollars we spend to take care of these criminals who are breaking our laws!

It just sounds to me that British people are too used too getting what they want - endless credit, fish and chips every Friday night, and their pick of tax-funded benefits. If the immigrants can live and work happily in this country at £3 per hour less, then why can't we? It seems that since the end of the second world war the British baby-boom rattle shook louder and louder - just because it could.
yes I am sick of rich politicians who have never had to work hard in their lifetime tell people who have done those jobs that they are too lazy to do them or don't want them.
Then they go on to further show how oblivious they are by suggesting that the jobs are agriculture, yard work and construction work only which is a complete lie. On top of that, there have been american construction workers for a really long time and they made good money.

The main haulage company in the city next to where I live slowly but surely managed one way or another to get rid of their local drivers and now employ immigrants...

Yeah you`ve got it, they pay them a lot, lot, less wages than they were paying beforehand.
So there are now 20 to 25 qualified experienced drivers out of work, because of this governments blindness.

I had a garage sale and had a (questionable legal status try to negotiate an item down from .10 cents to .7 cents. I gave it to him.
And if legal status is given the cheap labour will go away and then who will do those jobs.
