Would it be fair if the illegal immigrants were granted amnesty, that they should be banned from voting?

Answer:
"Granted amnesty" does not mean "granted citizenship," so it would be fair that immigrants, even with amnesty, not vote unless they become citizens. Once someone is a legal citizen, they should be allowed to vote. But just because an illegal immigrant is granted amnesty (which would consist of paying a hefty fine and having to start official paperwork) doesn't mean s/he would automatically become a citizen. S/he would have to apply for and receive citizenship like anyone else.
My husband is a legal resident, and he cannot vote, so I would say yes.It would be fair...
No & No, they get it all or nothing, and most are pretty much for nothing, come here legaly!
I don't think they should be granted amnesty let alone vote. They have committed a crime in this country. Do you know that if you commit a felony you lose your right to vote. If Americans can lose that right then a bunch of illegals should definitely.
I asked why we should give illegal immigrants a route to citizenship once, and no one can gave me an answer. I suggested that to allow illegal immigrants to be given legal residency, but is forbidden to ever get a citizenship as a compromise. That way we can atleast tell the legal immigrants there is a reward for doing it the right way. I frankly think it should be part of the compromise for immigration bill. ToO many people feel it's all or nothing.
No. They should pay reparations to all the would-be Legal immigrants who've waited for as long as 28 years just to get into the U.S. and START the process. And they should do that from their home country. Once they've gone back home and paid the reparations, they need only pay the middle-class US citizens and legal residents what they've used from our tax base.

Now, they can start their own 28 year wait.

Why are we criminalizing the respectful of the world and respecting the criminals as though they're the only poor? Illegals spend more money to get here illegally than they would have spent legally so they can cut in line. Very bad policy.

No, Illegal aliens should be sent back to the country they came from and encouraged to vote there. And if they can't vote there they need to do something about that.
Violating our borders is not the solution to the problems of foreign countries and not allowing citizens to vote is not what America is about.
yes it would be fair. i would not like the idea of my government allowing illegals that were then granted amnesty the right to vote. i know they'd be citizens but in my eyes they wouldn't.
I don't think they should be granted amnesty let alone to vote.
