Are you fed up with politicians ignoring what Americans want?

Who else is boiling mad about the way most politicians like Kennedy, McCain, etc, just ignore the fact that the majority of Americans DON'T APPROVE OF AMNESTY!!!!!!!!!

Answer:
Fed up completely!!
Boiling mad enough that I'm dehydrated.
American citizens elected them to represent our best interests, not that of illegal aliens who disrespect our laws.
Any one of them who votes for this shamnesty bull needs to be "deported" from the Senate in their next election and sent home to become political has-beens.
With you there.
Yep! And then to have Trent Lott try to say we're being brainwashed by talk radio. I find most politicians to be very insulting.
yeah sure.lets give amnesty to a box of cuban cigars...and who would we get to actually work..the fat lazy overpaid union employees?
With you all the way. They just like spending our tax dollars.
That's why I'm voting for Ron Paul as Pres. '08. He will put a stop to birth-right citizenship & make sure there is no amnesty. Do some research & you will see that he is the best candidte out there. He cares about the American people.
if you seriously thought that politician were ever going to listen to the majority then you have been badly misled by someone or something.while i agree it would be nice if they would listen and do the will of the people, the sad fact is that by nature of the job they are out for there own self interest and power, and politics is governed by the most powerful force know to man, money.
I am Fed up with them ignoreing what we want sure, but as to what Americans want uh...
Did you see all the people out on the streets a few months back?
Those were pro-votes
i am. we need to get them out of office. we also need to demand our immigration laws be enforced. i have also noticed there is someone here tonight that likes to report. watch what you say.
count me in
Yeah, I'm fed up.but not about the immigration issue.

I'm fed up because Bushie and the boys are ruining my country. I'm fed up because the Congress doesn't seem to have the bal*s to put a stop to that awful mess in Iraq. I'm fed up with the corruption of our Justice department under Gonzalez. I'm fed up that Bush is having to borrow 2 1/2 BILLION dollars a week to keep our country going - thanks to his little war-for-oil. I'm fed up because my grandchildren are going to be paying for HIS mess. I'm fed up because my fellow Americans are not out in the streets in the millions protesting the wholesale killing of our young soldiers in that illegal war.I'm fed up because we don't seem to give a dam about almost 1 million dead innocent Iraqis, thanks to Bushies war.

I'm fed up because the oil companies are posting record profits while you and I are paying $3.00 plus per gallon and nobody in Washington gives a crapola.

Immigration?? HUH??

That has been going on for a hundred years...and the only thing that ever happens is amnesty... I've seen it several times, I'm pushing 70.believe me. Amnesty it will be...it always is.

If you want to get angry, pick something that is truly ruining our country and leave the Mexicans alone.
The essence of a republic (which is a worn meaning "of the people) is such that by democratic election representatives of all the people in a given geographic section of the country are placed in office for the purpose of exercising the representative's best judgment in matters affected his or her constituency. The public is far too fickle, easily swayed, and erractic to trust our liberty to pure democracy. Democracy in its pure form is nothing more than mob rule.

I think most Americans understand that and agree with it. Where the frustration comes in is when we see politicians openly pandering to special interest groups in order to garner more votes. This appealing to the fringes of our society must end. The Democrats have lost their bearings from being sallied around from one extremist viewpoint to another. Whether Republican or Democrat, the next President must be what is called a "centrist," laying political considerations aside and doing what is best for the vast majority of Americans.

As things stand now, with Bush handing the country over to big business and, to coin a phrase, "big religion" as well, we have very nearly returned to what used to called "the spoils system," which means the victor does whatever he pleases and damn those who don't like it.
Hmmmm, barb is new my hero.Great post, my exact sentiments...
On Amnesty, conservatives want our politicians to stick their finger up in the wind and see which way the opinion is blowing.

On terrorism and the Iraq war, conservatives want the politicians to govern from their core convictions, do what's right, and ignore popular opinion.

We can't have it both ways.

I'd rather have a politician doing something against what I believe in, because they have core convictions, and sound reasons for doing so, than have them support it due to popular opinion.
I was actually talking to a damn right on congressman about 3 weeks ago,, I won't mention his name but he was a republican conservative! he told me in a real nice 45 min long conversation that he and 5 other congressman was in Karl rove's office being lobbied to vote for the amnesty bill.. his exact words were"They just don't get it in Washington" he asked me my views and i told him that every senator and congressman who voted for this bill should be sent to Guantanamo bay!! He had a sly smile on his face! A very true story!!
I actually look on it as an example of why we have a republic instead of a democracy. It's painful, but it works better than any alternative.
Yep, I'm furious.

But you have to ask yourself why they're all coming out from behind the curtain now. I mean I've known for a long time that they're a pack of liars who only care about their own power and personal agendas. But this Amnesty Bill is such a blatant and bold disregard for American citizens, that It makes me wonder why they are willing to pay such a political price.

It looks like a push to balkanize the country with millions of people who we know are willing to break our laws, and who don't even care to learn our language, much less assimilate and become Americans. This will also further our descent into the financial abyss as we sink that much closer to economic collapse.

And then we will be ripe for the integration into the "North American Union" and our new regional currency, the "Amero".

Our leaders have betrayed us, and they don't even care if we know now. Alright, now we know, the question is, what are we gonna do about it.
The only good that has come from this 'immigration deal' is that it has united us, Americans, after being so polarized for so long.
I have never seen anything like this in my life. Congress has done many things that sent ripples through the country, but nothing like this.
Contact your congressmen often and tell them. When the phones are busy, the faxes are turned off, go to congress.org or your congressman's personal site and tell them to vote against anything short of what you want. I don't stop at my congressmen, I go to the President and VP and Kennedy and anyone else that says something other than "NO" to this ignorance.
Not me! I'm one happy camper.
Yes.

What are People going to do is the real question?

Politicians always act the same way.

So do people...

What can We, the People do different? I invite you to ask this question!
Where do you get "we don't approve"? Don't tell me you are another that thinks he is God! I am American and want amnesty, so don't put things out there that you don't REALLY know about. You are one out of MILLIONS AND MILLIONS so where do you you get your statistics from?
I agree. They dont know what to do with them. We can round them up in trucks, and send them back home. We can make it illegal to come here, oh, we did that. We could go cashless, and make everyone use a card to buy and sell. Is that the Mark of the Beast?

Yes, I am very sick of losing many of our freedoms. We need change. Votes matter, but I doubt many will change. They will vote again for the same ole people. And they will make the same ole laws and taxes, and bans.
Remember, cheap labor. This is keeping gas cost down, and it is keeping crime rates low. LOL!
Count me in.
Yes, and my guess is that they will lose their "seats" over this when we vote on them again.
They want America look like a great country by granting amnesty, but that is wrong. They must not care about what Americans think at all because I know that a lot of Americans do not want amnesty.

I don't want amnesty, those illegals broke the law and they should be sent back to their country. A lot of them come here with TB that cannot be cured. Illegals can hurt the American people financially and health wise.

They need to be sent back
I'm really pissed off about it.
I just heard on the radio today that the illegals are setting trees on fire to attract the attention of the border patrol then while everybody's over at the trees trying to put out the fire the illegals are crossing the border into the United States.
They are somehow able to set the trees on fire from across the border separating us from Mexico.
I'll probably find out more about it tomorrow but it really pisses me off what those people get away with and how we have to suffer because of it and it's to the point where we can't even talk about it or we'll be called the 'R' word.
Bush needs to turn his attention to HIS people instead of Mexico's people and take care of US.
Personally I don't know why McCain and all the others especially Kennedy are still in power.
They should have been thrown out of office as soon as they revealed they're imposters and traitors to the people who voted for them.
They have been bought out by special interest groups like 'La Raza' and have jeopardized themselves and the job they are supposed to do for us.
We need to do something about this or I'm afraid they will pass a bill in the secret of night and by the time we find out about it, it will be too late.
Yes, I've been fed up for a long time. Unfortunately many complain but do not exercise their right to vote. All one has to do is look at the numbers when we have an election.

Many people complain that it doesn't do any good to vote. I will argue that point and say to them "If you don't vote you have no right to complain."

For years the last two generations have been asleep at the wheel when it comes to politics in my opinion. Perhaps the current issues will cause many to become more politically active. Do your research and don't just vote along a certain party line. You can have the current Congress and Senate agenda emailed to you to see how your represenative voted on anything. It also will arm you with great talking points that tend to embarass them when they come back home to their "Town Hall Meetings."
