Depends on your skill set. I wouldn't reccomend a business at the moment as their economy is nosediving faster than ours. Go for a work study. Try New Zealand, Americans get automatic 2 year visa for work. Aussie can be a hard place without thr right work. Besides I think you might get a SHOCK at your tax bill there, and then a double whammy when Uncle Sam comes requesting his Double Tax agreement filing for use of US resources.

Aussie has some pretty high income tax and Americans don't get any exemptions.
