Dream Act?

I need to know what people's true feelings are for illegal immigrants who were children forced here by their parents. My husband was 2 years old and didn't know he was illegal until he was 16. Do you still harbor the same negative feelings towards these kinds of illegal immigrants?

Does your answer change any if I say that I'm Caucasian, American citizen and that we both go to school, work, and never have asked for any special benefits or financial aid from anyone? That he has paid taxes with a TIN even when he could have ignored it like some do?

I've heard some hateful hurtful things even about the Dream Act and these illegals who were babies or small children. I want to know if everyone feels this way..

Answer:
Why are you so racist?
Screw the dream act, all illegals who have broken the law (99.9%) Must go, period, no amnesty, no anchor babies, none of that junk! Weve got to seal our borders, increase the numbers of border patrol, and penalize employers that hire them, that simple. Have a nice night :)

ps. Under Current laws, babies born in the U.S. Anchor babies, are citizens, we are one of the few countries that allows that right off the bat, most other countries if the parents are both citizens of a foreign nation, they must petition from there own embassy for citizenship papers for there baby. This law needs to be changed, birth here should not constitute immediate citizenship!

PSS. No honey below me, too many citizens are against amnesty, and this is democrats and republicans, the outcry for no amnesty, was by all citizens darling.
some hate them regardless...they dont think of illegals as humans
I don't see your husband as a criminal by any stretch of the imagination.By 2008, when we get a democrat in the office, the tide will turn and we will get a real amnesty bill, which your husband can apply for and no longer live like this.
To be honest I don't see why anyone would oppose the dream act.It would only give citizenship to the kids that had no choice. And to qualify the kids would have to have good morals an graduate high school. If anything it only gives them a reason to make something out of themselves.
I put people like your husband in a different catagory. I am wary of the dream act, because I am afraid it might be used to bring in his parents . His parents should be forbidden to stay in America, but I am willing to let your husband and those suffering a similar situation to stay.
When dealing with Children its a little tougher, but they should get no preferable treatment! They should be very angry with their parents for (1) sneaking them in (2) not legalizing them after all these years?
Its really quite simple Illegal means illegal!
And you shouldn't be able to cut in line no matter age or any other factor..no special treatment. If we start letting every hardship case qualify where does it end? There would be millions of people with somewhat similar and often sad stories. We need to have a hard stance on this so that future generations might think twice about doing this to their children. It has nothing to do with him being Mexican or you being white, It has everything to do with him being illegal.
I think that the undocumented students should be granted some sort of opportunity to legalize their status. They worked very hard in during high school to obtain good academic standing. and many of these students are working in low-paying and difficult jobs while they excruciatingly pave their way through college. Oh, undocumented students pay taxes... so it's not just "you" who are paying for their education.

Deporting these hardworking students, seems unfair. I mean, they practically lived here in the US for many years ever since they were minors, have exclusively adapted to the American culture and have friends who are Americans, too... they pretty much are Americans by heart. Deporting them will only burden the students with culture shock... it's harsh and unjust.

i guess we should just be more open-minded about the issue and consider all the factors and sides within the issue... and please do not state any quick generalizations about these issues without sufficient evidences.
