Are you having (or had) a nightmare trying to wade through the U.S Passport system?

In order to obtain a U.S Passport? If so, I would love to hear your story.

Don't get me wrong...I can't solve your problem, but we are having major nightmarish issues of our own, trying to get hold of a passport for our infant grandson, and I would like to know who else is having issues, as well. I know we can't be the only ones. So far, it's been a mass of bureaucratic NONSENSE!

Answer:
I got mine but went to the post office in person and paid through the nose for expedited processing - just to find that for trips to Canada they later said a receipt that you had applied would be enough, this year.

Sorry you are having problems.
Yes my grandmother.
I got mine pretty easily. Maybe it depends on where you are and how busy it is and where the nearest consulate is from where you live. I live in Portland Oregon and Seattle Washington issued mine. I got mine in about a month after I applied for it. I guess that is the average time frame from where I live. If you are trying to get it in some type of rush then I can see how you might run into problems.
