I am not sure what the laws are in Singapore.
Do you need a green card? If you do, I'll tell you about my friend's experience. She is Japanese, her fiance is American. They registered and got married in Japan. She got her green card in 2 months (that's right, 2 months). If they got married in the US, she would have had to wait 2 years to come back to the US with a green card.
You should definitely look into what the Singapore laws are.

Unless on a Fiancees Visa you could be sitting in Singapore a long time before you ever get to the states. That is the single biggest error people make that are in your position!
If you come on a 90 day Fiancee Visa, if you get married, you stay!
There is no time limit. It depends on the Embassy where you are from, but a friend of mine did that and it took him over 2 years to get her here!
Hi, it really depends on how you and him want to do your ceremony. If you marry in Singapore, than you will need a K3 (spouse) visa if you two want to visit/live in USA. But if you want to have the marriage ceremony in USA, then you will need a K1 (fiancee) visa to come to USA and you two will have to marry in 90 days.

How you proceed may depend on where you are right now. If you are in the US, you can get married (at the courthouse, e.g.), file the papers here (Form I-130 and I-485), and get the process started right away. If you wish to have a big ceremony in Singapore, feel free to do that later. Just apply for a travel document (I-131) before you go so that your paperwork is not terminated. The advantage is the process begins almost immediately and you maintain valid status during the pendency of the I-485 application. It may take a few months to get the travel document.
If you are in Singapore, then your boyfriend should file the I-129F (K-1) fiancee visa application for you. When it is approved, you will apply for the K-1 visa at the consul. This process might take 6 months. Then you can come to the US and get married within 90 days. Once you are married, you will file the I-485 to adjust your status. The downside of this is the uncertainty regarding getting the visa at the consul as the consul can choose not to give it to you even though your application has been approved. Usually that doesn't happen, but it's a possibility.
If you get married in Singapore, your husband will have to file Form I-129F to bring you in as the spouse of a citizen (K-3). The disadvantage to this, in addition to the potential of consular problems, is that you will have to spend time in Singapore waiting. That's not so different from the K-1 except you will already be married, which might feel different.
Get married here in the US since you're planning on living her eventually anyway.
