Can anyone give me a good reason why we shouldn't close our border to keep illegals out?

There is no reason, which is why no one has answered you yet. In this day and age having our borders wide open is signing our own death warrants. It's not just about stemming the flow of illegals it is also about going to bed at night knowing that our government is at least Trying to circumvent another attack. Stopping the illegals should be our governments priority. They should take the money they spend on illegals and put it towards border security. (in all forms that is needed)
Open borders in this day and age is a pipe dream and completely unrealistic. Those who wish for open borders have not thought the ramifications of their wishes completely out.

Hmmm funny I wonder who does those jobs that American citizens SUPPOSEDLY won't do, in the states where there are hardly any illegal aliens......... dang Must be those magical fairy's again....

Ok. (1) The same walls we use to keep the unwanted out can be used to keep us "legals" inside as prisoners. (2) Since this country was formed by immigrants, we are all descended from immigrants. AND (3) Its ironic that the ones we dont want are in the minority. So, yes, racism is part of the foundation of wanting to keep illegal immigrants out of the U.S. Oh, and did you know that most if not all of the jobs they do would never get done by americans because of money and/or status issues ?
