Should we have to pay for illegals medicare...?
Answer:
You may say I am un-patriotic but I believe everyone should have access to health care, including illegals.
I do not believe that anyone should be left out in the cold to die.
I know so many in this forum hate illegals. However, would you watch an illegal die a horrid death in front of you because s/he cannot walk into a hospital for help? If you can, you do not have a heart.
For all of those who can watch such a thing, think about disease process. For those of you who would happily watch that illegal die, do you want any contagious diseases spread because the illegal cannot get health care?
I do not live in California now so I do not know of any bills in the works for actually affording illegals medicare. I did not know that they could get on the "dole" period.
I think that, if they can get medicare/disability/welfare or anything else, they should also be required to obtain legal status.
By the way, did you know that many, many American citizens are dying from lack of healthcare today? Either NO healthcare or insufficient healthcare. I have insufficient health care myself. I know that if I become severely ill, I am going to have a slow death.
One of the posters in this thread said that anyone can get three months health care treatment.
I can tell you that in the States in which I have lived, this is not true. Hospitals are required, by law, to treat life threatening illness. Only. They are required to stabalize the patient. Then, they send the patient out the doors with prescriptions which the under or not insured patient cannot afford to purchase and a referral to a doctor that the under or uninsured patient cannot afford to see.
Many patients live from ER visit to ER visit because of this.
Edit: I just learned that illegals are able to get welfare, disability, a driver's license and the lot.
That I disagree with.
I think that they should have a grace period and get assistance as long as they are concurrently working towards legal status.
It's just as wrong as us having to pay for the Americans hospital bills.
I do not think it is right. Just like I do not think that it is right to have to pay for the health care for anyone that refuses to work, including drug addicts who bring on their diseases (HIV, etc) themselves. I have to pay for my own health care, why shouldn't anyone else?
When there is a life threatening case, which is often the times when one has to go into the hospital, most social/human service agencies in all states are required to give medicare for a limited time period (usually three months) to cover hefty hospitalisations, such as strokes, heart attacks, child birth, infectious diseases, etc.
the US goevernement is not also taking a chance at having someone walk around with perhaps say TB and infect as all, they want to prevent spreading, and deliver health babies too.
There needs to be affordable healthcare for EVERYONE.... so when you have a cold, you can go to the doctor, instead of having to wait until it turns into something worse and then end up in the emergency room. I don't want to pay people's medical bill... but i also don't want to pay for welfare for loser people who refuse to get a job. There are a lot of people on welfare that don't need to be receiving benefits.... so i'm not saying it's everyone, but a lot.
I don't think we have a say in where tax dollars goes to
Why should intruders get better treatments than the US "citizens"?
Hey I am a registered nurse and I understand where are you coming from, but did you know that our government gives billions of dollars to support planned parent hood, I am not saying that I am against anticonceptives, but I am totally against Pro-choice. The majority o illegals immigrants are to affraid they will get deported they hardly go to the hospitals when they are sick. Anyways the point I am trying to make as American citizens why dont we fight over the big pictures of thing, why dont we fight to save the lives of many unborn babies.
