Illegal immigrant supporters: What do you want?

I want an intelligent answer to my question. Show me that you do have a brain. What exactly is it that makes you want amnesty for illegal immigrants. I want to know if you have any idea what the real repercussions of such a move will be. I want to know if you honestly think it is good for America as a nation. Tell me why it would be good. I don't want to see you answer with only a sense of pride because maybe you "are" related to illegal immigrants. This is bigger than your "family". This is our country we are talking about. This is not about race. This is about the future prosperity of the United States of America. This is not some ghetto debate. This is an intelligent question and I am wishing to hear an intelligent answer. So far I have not. Tell me why it makes sense to allow millions of illiterate, unskilled laborers, to become citizens. Tell me! Also tell me if you think the borders should be closed COMPLETELY if we give amnesty to illegals that are already here

Answer:
Everybody should have the right to go wherever they please. Would you like being kept in a country where you do not want to live just because you were born there? It is not about immigrants it's about human beings.

Stop all this hatred!
The silence is deafening

"The Killer in Cali" below.. I dont know?....he talks alot, but aint sayin nuttin!

CZA is a real person/american.that was long overdue
7 minutes into this question and they are not here defending their beliefs. they have not one good reason.
Ask an intelligent question first. You make so many broad generalizations I don't know where to start.
1) It is not amnesty! Amnesty would be sending them their green card in the mail as soon as they came forward. With all the hoops they have to jump through, all the money they have to pay etc. it is certainly not "amnesty".
2) A "ghetto" debate? Do you drink that bigot-aid everyday? Do you think every single illegal immigrant is a gangster? Do you ever consider that, similar to white kids in the 50s, immigrant kids join gangs for prestige? Do you think their parents approve of their gang activities?
3) And yes, they are ALL illiterate and unskilled. ALL of them. Most of them are not, in reality. I actually live in Los Angeles!
4) And no, the borders should not be closed completely. Only extreme nativists/xenophobes want that. Should there be more enforcement? Yes. But closed borders? No.

So I am not saying anything, "meximeltdown"? First off, my name is not "Killer in Cali", it is killa cali. Get it right. Second, did you read anything I said? I actually see these illegals every single day! I know quite a few! I can actually make an informed opinion on what they think and how they feel without listening to Lou Dobbs or Faux News or any of that crap. Just look at your name. Who's the wrong one?
I'm Hispanic, and my parents were illegal immigrants. But this is the way i feel. As far as letting millions of immigrants into this country,...i really don't agree with. I see no benefit at all but to cut jobs and give them to the cheap labor. Or because America wants to have a big population like china to recruit more ppl for the Armed Services. i think this country has been nice long enough, close our orders and lets focus on getting the ppl that don't need to be here out first before we try to let more in. You don't see Russia, France, Germany saying come on in. We have been naive in the past, and too nice. I understand these 3rd world countries have these ppl that want to come here and progress,...don't get me wrong some do. But think of the murderers, rapist, etc that we are also letting in. Good Question, I feel the same way you do.
i personally think they should all get out.
There is nothing we can talk about.

What you call "prosperity" I call "snobbery," what you call "justice" I call "racism," and what you call "legality" I call "stealing land by force of arms."

We cannot have a dialogue because to my eyes your entire world view is wrong and is untenable.
If you want an answer to your question, take a basic Economics class and actually learn something from it.
I'm sooooooo glad this pile of crap looks like it's going up in flames! I can't believe that people actually think this would have been good for America.

$2.5 TRILLION just for their retirement and Medicare? What about US citizens?

Giving amnesty to gang members if they renounce their gangs! Really smart! Do you think we can believe them?

No real background checks! Checks have to be completed in 1 day or they have to allow them. A 1 day turn-around is impossible!

They only take jobs Americans won't do - another lie!

There are only 7 to 12 million "undocumented workers." WRONG! We had 12 million illegal alien CRIMINALS breaking our laws in 2005. I think the number of criminals has increased in 2 years!

This defeat for Bush, McCain, Kyl, Kennedy, Hillary, Reid, etc. show what happens when Americans get angry enough and loud enough that the weasels in Washington have to listen. They are afraid for their jobs!
Your assumption that simply because one supports a path to documentation for millions of individuals one is of questionable intellect is but a reflection of your questionable intellect - perhaps it is you that needs to demonstrate you possess a brain.

In any case, I support legislation that can make the informal economy a formal economy. Why? Because of the sheer number and because there is a clear demand for this labor, which is not in all cases cheap labor, for many it's just labor without documentation. One can immediately categorize undocumented immigrants as criminals, etc, and jump to conclusion as if they're the ultimate authority on the issue. The only criminal in the matter is the government that has created the conditions for such a large influx of undocumented immigrants to enter the country, as the responsible party, it should resolve it. We can blame Mexico, we can blame people, but if if weren't for the accessibility to work in this country illegally, there would be less undocumented people. The govt. needs to fix this and offer them a legal path and penalize the initial act of entering without a visa. An allusion to murder and rape is completely ridiculous (for those that use the argument).

In closing, we all can claim our argument is valid, but that is the extent of the argument. You're no social scientist, so you can't say all are illiterate and unskilled. Border security will increase, but no such thing as a complete closure will be occurring in this millenia.
They want to live in a nice country, but if we allow our laws to continue to be broken, our country won't be nice for long and no one wins. Americans want Mexican immigrants who want to do things the right way.

Hooray, CzaLeo, a real American!
Bush already signed a bill into law to close off 840 plus miles of the border. That will still happen instead of the current bill that was defeated only having a couple hundred miles closed off.

Now we need to drive our point home with our politicians as to what we want to see introduced, and enforced. No more loop holes to go through from either side.

We need enforcement of the 1986 reform bill and laws to go after employers, and businesses that continually hire illegals.

We need those same businesses, and employers verifying the legal documents, and papers of the workers they hire.

We need to make law that Americans are put back to work first, and then all other legal immigrants.

We need to cut off all social programs, education, and funding to illegals who have come here undocumented.

We need to once again stop the fable that babies born on U.S. soil to illegals have automatic citizenship. That one needs to be clarified without any more misunderstandings or liberal speculation of that law. It's not English common law, but Americas "virtue of Natural law" that grants Americans, and Naturalized citizens babies automatic citizenship. Not illegals.

Guest/Holiday Worker programs - but they don't ever overstay, and remain illegally or the Visas become
"permanent" just by reapplying year after year after year. Same with Student visas... Tourist visas...

A skilled worker point system does need to go into effect. No more family chain immigrants. Meaning only the immediate family unit. All other relatives must apply o for their own families as well as themselves.

We need more border patrol, and ICE agents. More big brother cameras. Each state law enforcement agencies able to ask for documents, and paperwork of everyone they stop to find out legal status. If they are here illegally - fines, jail, and deportation are in order. If they return again illegally stricter punishment of the laws follow.

No more legal status or amnesty for any illegals hiding out here or residing here if they didn't apply properly in the first place.

All illegal gang bangers need to be booted out of the country, along with the illegal murderers, rapists, drug dealers, etc... We certainly don't want them here at all.

They need to go after those who provide false and illegal ID's to those who come here illegally.

So on and so forth. But everyone needs to still contact their Senators, and Congressmen/women to let them know what your in-put should be for the next time they bring this issue up. And they will and plan on bringing it up again.
I am for a solid immigration bill only under these conditions:

1. If after getting green card they have a certain number of years to apply for citizenship and if they do not by then, they have to go back home for good.

2. Once getting the green card they must promise to take ESOL classes(of which are free by the way, depending on your location)

3. They must show that they are capable of obtaining a good decent job or will be able to obtain after citizenship.

4. They can not have any more children until after they become citizens (they can,but any such children can only be covered under their own money)

5. They can not petition for relatives to come once citizens.

6. If they have any strikes against them with the law before citizenship they are to be deported immediately.

7. After citizenship, they must wait an "x" number amount of years before being allowed to vote so that our government can be aware they truly want to be dedicated citizens that contribute to this country

8. If a bill meets the above conditions and does not interfere with "fiance visa" process, I say let progress begin.
