Certificate of Naturalization and Passport Application?

I'll attend the oath ceremony and get my certificate of naturalization next month. They said that I can apply for the passport on the spot and the original certificate of naturalization will be sent back to me along with the passport. My question is if I can make a copy of the certificate before sending it for passport application? Since I want to use the copy to intitiate another immigration application immediately.

Thanks!

Answer:
Last September we filed for my wife's passport
after the ceremony. We made a copy of the certificate, one thing to remember make it 75% the size of the original and in black & white (its the counterfite issue).
Unless the law has changed since my wife did it in 1987, no. It says on my wife's certificate that it's unlawful to copy or duplicate the certificate.

If you use express processing for your passport, and send it and get it back by overnight mail, you can get the passport and certificate back in about 10 days. It costs extra, but it's really fast.
Yes. go to the post office and apply for the passport there. you can copy the natz certificate ahead of time.
