Where do "Americans" come from?
Answer:
The people who most loudly claim to be the "real" Americans originated almost everywhere but America. The only truly indigenous people are the Native Americans (a.k.a. American Indians). The rest are descended mostly from European immigrants, but just because they were born here they feel like they can look down on all newer immigrants. I'm one of those descendants of European immigrants (German/Norwegian/Irish) and I'm ashamed of the hypocrisy of some of my fellow Americans who wouldn't be here if it weren't for immigration.
Most of us were born here.

That is a question that is actually open to interpretation. My answer is that Americans come from THE AMERICAS: North AMERICA, Central AMERICA and South AMERICA.
"Americans" come from any where on the continents known as the Americas. The country you live in is called The United States OF America. Not America. Canadians are Americans, as are Mexicans, and peoples from points farther south.
i was born here. but we really come here because god made us. see it's a thing called s-e-x. and when two people get together they make baby's. some times it's just for friction. well any ways, Americans make baby's to. and when a woman becomes pregnant it is a gift from god. that's the best way i can explain it to you to help you understand.

The beautiful thing about this country,is that our ancestries span the globe,I myself am a regular MUTT ! lol So I guess my answer would be that Americans " came from " everywhere.
Most of them were born here,other came from another country.It is the United nations.I am from Vietnam(boat people),My husband and our children were born here.How about you?
If they are not naturalized citizens, then they were born in America and are, therefore, FROM America.

We all know the term American is refering to someone from teh United States of America. So its just an attempt by some to confuse or deny facts when they start bringing up that the USA isnt the only country in the americas.
Canadians dont refer to themselves as americans and neither do Mexicans.
And an American comes from being born in the USA or legally becoming a citizen of the USA from wherever you are from. But of course most Americans were born in the USA.
They come from all over the globe. Most immigrants come here the legal way but there are some that don't.
