Has anyone become an American Citizen but kept their German Nationality?

Has anyone Become an american citizen but also kept their German nationality? I know you have to start paperwork with the German consulate (permission) first. I would like to know how long it takes to get permission from the German consulate....

Answer:
German authorities generally ask you to give up your US citizenship before getting the German citizenship.

You can keep your US citizenship in exceptional cases if you can prove that the loss of the US citizenship will lead to "substantial" disadvantages (e.g. financial disadvantages of a one year income (min.12.000 EUR)).

The process will take about a year, sometimes longer, depending on the documtens your'll be able to provide.
Nein
The Germans won't let you do that.
In America, anyone can change their race classification
no
your race and nationality will stay with you until you die, and if you are wise, it will be passed on unchanged to your children.

I am proud to be a german, and my family has been in america for over 100 years.

Here is a link to a very good website on dual nationality, I'm confident that you will find your answer here. Many people become American citizens and keep their original citizenship as well. Good Luck.
